Bamidele Jimoh, sorry for your confusion about this matter. I work with FUTA (Akure). What happened is this: those days NYSC used to compile list of prospective corps members at the beginning of the final year. The schools were then mandated to withhold the call up letters of those who failed to graduate and return them to NYSC.
In the case of FUTA, our students that were admitted in 1993 reached final year in 1999 due to intermittent ASUU strike. Their data were captured by NYSC in 1999 so their NYSC registration numbers read 1999 although they served from July 2000 to July 2001 (the Dino Melaye batch).
That set in FUTA had final exams in February 2000. Senate approved their results between April and June 2000. So they graduated in 2000 and served in 2000 but their NYSC call up numbers read 1999.
That is how she used to do.
