'There was no crying, no screaming. You didn't push him away. We have to ask why?'The alleged victim's lawyers argued that her silence represented her 'painful situation' rather than proof she had not been attacked.
The court ruling has sparked anger in Italy and justice minister Andrea Orlando has ordered an investigation. MP Annagrazia Calabria decried the ruling, saying:
'Certainly, you cannot punish the personal reaction of a woman terrified by what is happening to her.'For his part, the defendant does not deny contact with the woman but insists their association was consensual.

Hmm! These kind of cases are always very dicey. Video evidence would have done a lot more to prove it was a rape case. I remember a case someone told me last week. A Nigerian guy somewhere in Europe took home a white lady and they had sex twice, and she left and came back to arrest him the next day. She said she agreed to the first time they had sex, but she didn't agree to the second time (even though she didn't fight him off), which means the guy raped her. #TrueStory.

People react in different ways when faced with danger. In the same vein, rape victims react in different ways. Some flee, some resist and some freeze. It's not their fault how they react.
DeleteI think I see sense in this! Why can't she scream? When she is not dumb!

Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she enjoyed every bit of it hence she refused to shout or could it be a set up
ReplyDeleteWell, technically he's right. Not that it couldn't have been rape but that there wasn't enough to prove it cause the guy said it was consensual and with no surveillance to prove it wasn't(I'm assuming) . Not that he's innocent tho.. he probably is guilty. But there is no proof. You shouldn't let sentiment send a Man to jail when there is reasonable doubt.
ReplyDeletehmm SMH
