Photos: Lagos Police arrests man for tying employee's hands and legs and transporting him to Abuja on a Hilux

Officers of the Lagos state Police Rapid Response Squad RRS, arrested a man for dehumanizing an employee of his by tying his hands and legs to the back and transporting him to Abuja on Hilux.‎ What a heartless man. Read the full story after the cut...

The employer, Engineer Wole Odunuga, was arrested after officers of Metro Police chased his vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux Van with the registration number SMK 707 CA, from Ketu/Ojota Flyover to 7 – Up before Toll gate.

The officer had on Wednesday night at around 7:20 p.m.  stopped the vehicle but the lone occupant defied the police order and sped off.

After forcing the vehicle to a stop around 7 – Up, the officer were shocked to see a man, later identified as Daniel Dabis, with his legs and hands tied to his back and put at the back of the Hilux.

During preliminary investigation, the driver of the vehicle claimed the victim stole his money from his Abuja home before he absconded to Lagos, so he was transporting him back to Abuja before he was stopped.

He stated “I've been searching for him all over places, which took me to his village in Plateau state. It was one of his friends that told me he was in Lagos where he was hiding. Precisely, I was hinted he was staying at Mile 12 Market, Ketu.

I drove down from Abuja and I met him at Mile 12 Market, Ketu, where I picked him up”.

He continued; “initially, I had taken him down to Ketu Divisional Police Station, Lagos, to incident the matter, but the officers at the station declined to detain him there. So, I had no option than to take him back to Abuja”.

Odunuga, a resident of Pent City Estate, Abuja, added: “that was what I was trying to do before I was accosted by the police team on routine Patrol under the Ketu/Ojota flyover",

But according to Daniel Dabis, “what I took from him were a ladder and a wheel barrow. He is estimating the cost of the wheel barrow at N110,000 and the ladder, N90,000, that is all I took from him”.

He has because of that tied my legs and hands to my back. His plans was to drive me to Abuja, if not for the officers, he would have killed me and dumped my body at the road side”

  15. Even though the engineer was wrong to have tied him up, can you imagine that the thief still has the effrontery to say that it was just. A brand new fibre ladder is upwards of N130,0000 now in Nigeria and the idiot is calling it just.

  18. Someone wrote this and I decided to share:

I still do not understand why the so much noise about Trump's decision to ban refugees from Muslim countries, there is a 100,000 empty fully air conditioned tent in mina Saudi Arabia capable of housing 3 million people yet Saudi refuses to take the refugees, who speaks same language, same culture, same tradition, same religion yet Saudi feels it's a security risks to accept the refugees but wants the Christian world to do so ? I'm trying to understand this thing called common sense ,how it's been used. Is Saudi not too wicked for turning it's back against its own? Why blaming the US? Remember it is part of Trump's election promises, yet the Americans voted for him, meaning that's what they want. Germany took over 1 million refugees and Saudi came up with a proposal of spending billions to build mosques in Germany to cater for the spiritual needs of the migrants but won't accept them in Saudi, what kind of ideology is this and some Christians are debating these issues. Today, Germans are paying the price and defense budget had doubled because of these migrants. Why can't these Muslims migrate to Muslim countries and live in peace with their kind and practice sharia to the fullest without issues. Why is Islam always in conflict with Christianity when their are too many other religions. Christians are barred from entering mecca yet no issues. Jews don't travel to Saudi and some Arab countries yet no issues. In all fairness it's cheaper not to allow these guys than spending money monitoring them because it's difficult to separate a genuine refugee and a terrorist. Muslims need to do internal in house cleansing and reorientation on all subjects that makes good Muslims suffer because of the activities of those extremists.

  29. Please don't blame the man. I had a similar experience last year, i traveled for an official trip and when i got back my security man had arranged with some thieves who broke into my house and stole all my properties. Imagine if i was at home, don't you think i would have been killed.

My security man even told my neighbors that he lost his dad and needs to travel urgently and he hadn't been paid but, unknown to them he wanted run with my things thinking i would not returns but as God will have it i came back and caught him.

My security man was from the same Plateau state.
