Another corps member dies in Bayelsa state orientation camp

A corps member identified as Jumoke who was in platoon 8 at Kaiama grammar school in Kolokuma LGA, Bayelsa state, has died. The state camp director, Mrs Loto officially broke the news to the corps members this afternoon as she pleaded with them not to hide their ill health as it is those who are alive that can serve the nation.

In November 29th, 2016, a corps member, Miss Elchi Chiyerom also died at the Kaiama camp, Bayelsa State due to ill health.

  8. They say NYSC is to foster peace which Nigerians clearly don't care about since they r getting hungrier by d minute so y not scrap it and feed the ailing nation. Y is it so hard to a solution in front of you

  9. Scrap NYSC!!! We are being treated like cows. Heck, the abokis treat their cows better. They kill for them. Scrap this shit now! I hate it, I hate that I have to go, I will hate the whole experience the people and culture included. Really, what exactly is it supposed to do for a person like me? I have bills to pay and can't wait to get on my feet after spending hectic years in school and I'm expected to spend another year, being underpaid and gaining absolutely nothing. I already live in Lagos and you would agree it's a hotbed for integration. If I need more integration, I know the way to the garage. NYSC is bullshit. Scrap it and stop killing us.

  20. What is killing corp members in these camps. The govt needs to look into these things. These corp members did not opt to be military personnel. Hence should not be trained as such.

  23. So you carry fake news too! All these blatant liars that care only about traffic on their site! Just so you get likes and comments! She's Vivian not "whatever" and she's dead! So show some respect! She's not in camp! She was done with that, and was serving in KADUNA not BAYELSA!

  27. Is quite sad after 4 to 6 years in university, depending on the cause, parent will now lose their daughter.so pathetic.Come to think of it,the NYSC personal that is asking copers to report their illness,is their enough medical facility for them? I have a lady in ikare akoko camp, ondo state.Who spring her ankle since Tuesday, uptil now,she has not receive medical care from NYSC medics, rather she was referred to nearby hospital at her own expense.Pls govt should upgrade medical facilities in all NYSC camp.

  30. I am not anonymous im vmed. The problem is with the medical professionals & the corpers themselves. My point, you are asked to go with a med report. You want it desperately,no investigations done, you are given AA rather than SS.
Proper medical investigations are not done;corper"i dont have money"
Dear doctors...every health wrker is necesssary, let proper diagnosis be done.Dear corper let ur service year count!
