The price of sanitary pads is climbing at an alarming rate. Many girls and women can no longer afford sanitary protection during their periods and have resorted to old cloth bundled up with toilet papers or cotton and or just plain cloth.
Unbelievable? No, that is a fact. A Nigerian lady, Vivian Ugwu is now advocating for free sanitary items. Your thoughts?
Your own thoughts!.

ReplyDeleteWho will pay for the production costs? Lol Sanitary pads should be cheap and not free like u said. Let's be reasonable here please
ReplyDeleteMeals should be subsidised for males but petrol should not be.
ReplyDeleteMales eat more due to our naturally bigger bodies. Products using petrol as fuel are gotten by choice.
The government has to ensure all males get meals subsidy for life.
I agree but lack of contraception can lead to death, lack of tampons lead to...well nothing
ReplyDeleteIDiot''''u go lyk am if u babe dey use tissue???___pls preach it sister!
DeleteHi Linda, I amissed a regular visitor to your blog but I don't comment. Please is there a way I help with assisting young girls with cash for sanitary pad thanks, I mean my paying into your alc or something ? N400 is way too much for sanitary pad
ReplyDeleteShe has just spoken our minds biko
ReplyDelete...merited happiness
Honestly I was surprised at the price too..Funny enough it isn't our making that we do menstruate.
ReplyDeleteI agree with her to a large extent ...
ReplyDeleteso true, I can't even afford it . Am not saying it should be totally free but it should be affordable for all and sundry
ReplyDeleteWith this heavy flow, I so concur. Buh unfortunately, we r in a society dat celebrates evil over good. Why mak condom free-bcos of HIV? Pple ain't scared of HIV again lik before. End time is taking over, period.
ReplyDeletei agree with what she has say
ReplyDeleteI Am A Guy... I found this important and true. Sell condoms N1,000 but reduce price of pads or better give it free.
ReplyDeleteIm a guy and agree too.

ReplyDeleteVery well said, just that menstruation doesn't cause AIDS.
ReplyDeleteIn as much as this ma sound weird. She is truly correct. Not everyone can afford the new rate of sanitary pad. This should be looked into. from #200 to #400 seriously? Linda let's do a donation

ReplyDeleteThousands have sex without condom but a girl can't menstruate without pads. Pads should be almost free. This movement was actually started by CHINELO AKORAH a legal practitioner in Delta State.
ReplyDeleteAm in full support but then condoms should be free as well...Icharity is the real deal
ReplyDeleteIt is an online peer to peer donation program where you are expected to donate N6,000 to someone and you in turn get donation from 5people and earn 30,000 in the process this will then take you to the next grade, where you are expected to earn N300,000 with only 12k donation.
In Icharity, you are expected to recruit 3 people and they system will randomly provide 2 more people to make donation. However, its only in grade one that you are expected to recruit people. From grade 2 onward, the system will randomly connect you with those who will provide help.
Note: Your down lines pay directly into your account in grade one and whatever spill over you have goes to other 'down lines' who may not be able to get 5 people to provide the needed help. You can however, choose to get all the donations from all your spill over but that will be when you get to grade 5..... https://goo.gl/9xKtPL
Very sensible, supported
ReplyDeleteYes, I support. You can imagine when 1 always ultra is now sold for 400 naira. So expensive
ReplyDeleteMy nsukka sister has sense
ReplyDeleteThis post is damn touching... If the price is not checked, some young girls may lose their confidences during their period
ReplyDelete*Writing my signature*
She copied it from a Kenyan woman's page.
ReplyDeleteCondom should be free because it prevents diseases.
Menstral cycle is a natural cause. You might as well ask for free tissue for you pooh. Moron!
Good suggested.

ReplyDeleteYes oooooo. Free sanitary towel.
ReplyDeleteYes I support.
ReplyDeleteI concur,good point raised.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't be free, but should be made cheaper..
ReplyDeleteThis is what should be true feminism... Not fighting to maintain your surname after getting married. Fight for things that influences an average girl out there... Something that bothers on the female gender and their freedom to live without fear of anything. Nne for this, I'm going to share packs of Always UltraPad between February to April to as many poor girls as I can. Nice point.
ReplyDeleteI think it should be subsidised. D cost is ridiculous.
