We can’t pay Super Falcons because we didn’t expect them to win - Solomon Dalung

Speaking to State House correspondents after a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential Villa, Abuja, the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Mr. Solomon Dalung on Thursday said that the Federal Government hasn't paid the allowance of members of the Super Falcons because they didn't think the Falcons would win the championship in Camerron , hence didn't make any provision of funds for them.

He said no money was readily available to pay the players. However, he said serious efforts are being made to find a way to solve the problem at hand. He said:
“It is unfortunate that we are celebrating victory of the Super Falcons amidst some bitter feelings among the players because of some administrative lapses that were not managed properly because if the situation was explained to these girls, I don’t think the situation would have gotten to this level.
They have stamped their authority and dominance over football in the continent, having consistently won the trophy eight times.  After the girls came back from Cameroon, we had lunch with them and they were in high spirits, the communication gap in trying to convey the situation to them could have been what led to it."

  3. This bloc doesn't know what he's doing for God's sake. He lacks everything necessary to take sports to greater heights in Nigeria.
A square peg in a round hole. When you make somebody who is "supposedly" a barrister a sports minister, lacklustre, pessimism, administrative failure, and disgrace become the order of the day.

  4. Meanwhile while they can't pay the super Falcon, zaarah and her clueless father will collect about 30 customized LV (Louis Vuitton) boxes from the family of her husband-to-be, Ahmed Indimi.

The LV boxes have Zahra’s name customized as ZBI (Zara Buhari Indimi).

The LV bags which total about 30 and allegedly cost about £120, 000 (approximately N47,144,502, using the official rate of N392.87 to a pound) are said to have been delivered to Zahra in 30 exotic cars.
The boxes are usually loaded with diamond and gold jewelry, designer shoes, bags, super wax, laces, perfumes, designer underwear, cosmetics, jeans, tops and more.

...AND YET THIS GOVERNMENT CAN'T PAY THOSE THAT MAKE THEM PROUD BUT SPEND SO MUCH ON A 21 YRS OLD GAL WHO HAS ADDED NOTHING TO THE ECONOMY. WHAT A SHAME!!!

  29. This is quite lame and pathetic though! What is wrong with NFF and the sport ministry and its red beret wearing minister??? How could they not make provision for the falcons, saying they thought they wouldn't win??? What kind of f^cked up excuse is that? They better not collect December salaries too since there is no money. This is kinda wicked and I feel greatly embarrassed as a Nigerian. PMB please do something to the sport ministry!

  36. i am saddened my the comment of the minister of sports. If only he could listen/regurgitate his statement. I hope Nigerians are watching avidly. This was the same minister that referred to us as the united states of Nigeria. Anyways that's what you get from a president who is unable to prove he has a primary six certificate not to talk of a B.sc.

  44. Aside of this minister,The question is is it the immediate job of the Federal Govt to pay their allowances. What is NFF doing, are they not in charge of running the countrys football affairs and making provisions and request for whatever is needed

    ReplyDelete
  45. Majority of people leading us in this country are people who should have no business with governance. Pity we seem to be opting for primitive options while the world is looking for better ways to move on.

  46. "Can't pay them because we didn't think they would win!" That statement sums up the whole APC administration,"have no plan for the country because they didn't think they would win!"

    ReplyDelete
  56. It's just so sad that government pretends not to expect a win from the Super Falcons even when they'd won the championship for over six times already. What's the incentive here. What's the motivation there? Honestly, let not one person link this to the Falcons alone. We as a nation may be sliding into an era where the youths are no longer encouraged to be innovative, daring and reach out for their greatest potentials.

  57. Who loosen this man again. i think say una don tie am rope for somewhere. how come he escape again?
