An uncompleted two story building collapsed in Makinde Street, Ikeja, Thursday. According to RRS operatives at the scene, the owner of the collapsed building is reportedly based overseas. The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) had earlier served the builder a 'Stop Work Order' but it wasn't obeyed.
Four artisans jumped to the roofs of adjourning buildings during the collapse and were uninjured. However, they absconded on sighting government officials. The Area has been cordoned off for rescue operation.

ReplyDeleteWhat a tragedy! This is a nearly completed structure, and now all the tons of money spent on it is gone – and there’s even a high chance that the state may revoke the license for the land. All is lost! What a pity! Obviously, a structural foundation error led to this collapse. The foundation is the most important part of any structure. If the foundation is faulty, collapse is inevitable. As it is for buildings, so it is for human destiny.
