Photos: Troops intercepts Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State

Troops of 8 Task Force Division Nigerian Army on a fighting patrol along Monguno-Brimari road, Borno State, on Thursday, November 3rd, intercepted a group of Boko Haram terorists suspected to be on a mission to loot logistics supplies in surrounding villages.

A statement signed by Army spokesperson, Col. Sani Usman, said the insurgents on sighting the patrol, engaged the troops in a shootout that lasted for about fifteen minutes before they were overpowered by the superior fire power of the patrol.

In the encounter, 2 insurgents were neutralized.

The troops recovered weapons including 1 Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifle loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 1 AK-47 rifle and 3 magazines from the terrorists. Also recovered from the insurgents were 2 motorcycles, various drugs, wrappers and clothes.
