Ben Murray-Bruce reacts to DSS raid on bureau de change offices in Abuja

According to Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, the raid of Bureau de change offices in Abuja by DSS officials on Tuesday and Wednesday will only cause the Naira to go higher against the dollar. DSS officials in a bid to stop bureau de change operators from causing the free fall of the Naira, stormed some of their offices and arrested two operators who were selling dollar above N400‎. Senator Murray-Bruce feels this action is not a step in the right direction.

    1. Shut up there! Who are you to talk? Are you a banker or an economist? What do you know about Bureau de Change? Please face your constituency in Bayelsa and leave social media alone. Smtcheew

    2. Ben Bruce has no clue about the market forces of demand and supply. Some of these BDC companies are very greedy. They get dollar at a cheap rate and sell at a very high rate. It is the government's responsibility to correct and curb their excesses. They are the ones making the dollar go very high. They are taking advantage of the situation of the economy which is not nice of them. It is the masses that are suffering. If you allow them to operate as they like, prices of things will continue to go up

    3. There is something that Ben Bruce is not telling us. It is either he has a BDC or he has friends or relatives that run BDC companies because i dont understand why he is defending them when it is glaring that the government is trying to correct the anomalies in that arm of business.

  4. It's amazing when those people who have led us to this mess and couldn't proffer solution are quick to criticize and try to frustrate the efforts of the government to salvage the situation. It's not far fetched why Jonathan administration was a mess with all people like BMB around him.

  7. i quite agree Mr Bruce, market forces are supposed to determine currency inflation/deflation, not by the DSS raiding BDC operators... then again, we have a fucktard as president who went ahead to appoint a buffoon as finance minister.. the country is so fucked under these retarded fucks...

  9. But BDC get most of the dollar they sell from FirstBank and ought to sell at 385 in line with the agreement so why are they sabotaging government's effort. While I don't support raids and brute force they should be sanctions by being charged to court for economic sabotage and being banned from buying forex from the banks again

However a free selling Aboki on the street not affiliated with a BDC should be allowed to sell as he wishes.

  10. The kind of confusion that is worrying this government is sickening. How can you be stupid and foolish simultaneously? Improve the economy and the naira will strengthen against other currencies.
