It should be recalled that a few months back, following an intense rainfall leading to a rise in water level of the River Niger; NEMA had advised communities along side river to evacuate immediately to safer ground as there was a likelihood of the river to overflow its bank any moment.
This occurrence, however validates NEMA's previous forecast, bringing back to memory the 2012 flooding that wrecked many riverine communities of their properties.
