President Buhari responds to his wife Aisha's allegations, says "she belongs to my kitchen, my living room & the other room"

President Buhari has reportedly responded to claims by his wife, Aisha Buhari, in her yet-to-be aired interview with BBC Hausa, that his government has basically been hijacked by people who were not with them from the very start. (Read  here)

In Berlin today, The Associated Press reports that President Buhari laughed off her allegations, saying,
"I don't know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room."
'His comments to reporters in Germany promoted German Chancellor Angela Merkel, standing at his side, to give him a short glare and then laugh," Associated Press reports.
Buhari also said he hopes his wife will remember that he ran for president three times before succeeding on the fourth effort.
"So I claim superior knowledge over her and the rest of the opposition, because in the end I have succeeded. It's not easy to satisfy the whole Nigerian opposition parties or to participate in the government."

  12. This is about to get messy. Let me grab a bottle of coke and a bucket of popcorn. My appetite is warming up for this interesting thriller of a movie. Are we about to witness the first divorce of a sitting president in Nigeria or will Aisha Buhari be stripped of her title as the First Lady and asked to return to the kitchen? Only time will tell... The battle of the president and his 1st lady... Coming soon to a cinema near you!!!

  13. Buhari has no single respect for woman

  14. I tire o. Is she a chieftain of the party? sometimes women do pass their boundaries. Such sensitive matter should be discussed privately with her man. She's not a politician take note, she's the wife of the president.

  21. Well done for una. No be u elect am? See ya life now. Change ko, change ni.
It's obvious that this man's mentality belongs in the 1940s. He knew this was coming, and that he would be asked this question; couldn't he have crafted a better answer? How about saying "my wife is my greatest supporter, she has her opinions and I respect them" and leave it at that? No, he had to put her firmly and squarely in her place. No defense for the mother of his kids who, clearly is concerned for the country. Worse still, he's thrown her under the bus for the likes of Fayose to do what they want with her. Totally discredited the poor lady on the world stage.
And for those of you who said she shouldn't have talked, is she not a Nigerian citizen? Was her vote not counted? Does she not have a conscience?

You haven't seen anything yet, this is just the beginning. What a shame.

    1. Thank you my friend, he knew the question would come more than 24 hrs before and he couldn't craft a better answer irrespective of his stupid archaic beliefs. That means she's right, he doesn't have the best people working for him, or he still has the ear problems.

  28. I love d response of PMB, is Aisha Buhari a member of APC? Hw could a wife openly decided to discredit his husband? Hillary Clinton covered her husband and she is getting d glory now. PMB knows those who started d journey from 2003 with him there4 he knows better. I think 1st Lady's office shld be scrapped, let her face her husband, kids and personal business.

  32. PMB really got a good sense of humor. Even more, the fact that he wpuld remind his better-half, Aisha on he role in his administration in no uncertain terms, lends credence to PMBs vision and determination to get it right free from meddling spouses. Much respect to PMB for setting down the boundary within his household. QED@atm

  44. THIS IS EXTREMELY DISGRACEFUL!!
In this 21st century for a President of a big (for nothing) country like Nigeria to declare that his wife is nothing more than a piece of domestic property.
Imagine the intellect of the people that are governing us.
Angela Merkel will certainly be shocked to listen to that rubbish as all reasonable persons worldwide.

  45. Do you kknow something hilarious? I bet you some of us readers on LIB would make a far better president for this country than this man we have now lool. Most of us are more educated, more eloquent, more energetic, more exposed, and more everything than President Buhari.
