"Nigeria is actually not worth dying for" - says son of a police officer who was assassinated 10 years ago

A Nigerian man - IG User: bluprint__ shared his late father's photo and wrote:
"I remember 16/10/2006 10 years ago just like 10days ago when my father died as a police officer serving his useless country he died and ever since then his country has forgotten him. No investigation on his assassination, no gratuity nothing not even hope for his 6 children and his poor widow. Nigeria is useless, Nigeria police are so useless
I remember how my dad was so passionate about his job, he didn't deserve to die and be forgotten that way. Nigeria is actually not worth dying for cause once you die it is finished for your family. Rest in peace dad and to other people who died serving their country. Your family and friends still have in you in their hearts."

I love my country Nigeria regardless and I pray and hope to see my country in a solid foundation so ogbeni know where and how to pour your anger and stop being stupid. 3. Imagine what you are saying... How can you be so inconsiderate, do you know what he and his family has been through that he would have so much pain in his heart to write this? If you don't know what to say kindly reserve your comment, at least try to put yourself in his shoes, I'm sure you ll do and say worse.

  22. Take heart, fellow compatriot. Many share the same feeling of anger and hopelessness. Let us believe that the God we serve will not turn His back on us. It may not be during our life time but I will never lose faith in Him....He will sure rescue us in the fullness of time.

BUT AS FOR YOUR FATHERS BENEFITS, I AM VERY SURE YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO PURSUE IT, BECAUSE THE NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE HAVE A DEATH BENEFIT SCHEME, AND ALL YOU NEE DO IS TO GO TO THE LAST COMMAND HE SERVED AND GET A SIGNAL LETTER, THEN YOU TAKRE IT TO THE POLICE HEAD QUARTER IN ABUJA (LUIS EDET) HOUSE. YOU WILL GET ALL HIS ENTITLEMENT I PROMISE YOU THAT, EXCEPT IF SOMEONE FROM YOUR FAMILY HAS GONE TO CLAIM IT BEFORE YOU, SUCH BENEFITS ARE USUALLY PAID TO THE NEXT OF KIN....

  44. Eiyaa, are you sure no gratuity was paid? Or did your father's family collect it silently without your knowledge? This stuff happens all the time, unfortunately. I know for a fact that the government will release funds but it is not unknown for those at the top to steal pensions, gratuities and the like
