Photos: I can't imagine buying 13 cups of garri for N400 when I'm physically fit to go to a farm" - Young female farmer

A young lady, Ogechukwu Kate shared these photos on her Facebook page. The photos shows the young lady harvesting cassava and processing garri.
"Farming is really a tough but enjoyable work to do. I cant imagine myself buying 13 cups of garri 400 naira when i am physically and mentally fit to go to farm" she captioned the photos.
While most of the comments were positive, others were critical, with some describing her post as a publicity stunt and "husband hunting" strategy. More photos and comments after the cut.

  29. IT'S REALLY INDEED A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT, A COUNTRY WHERE MANY YOUNG LADIES FROM POOR BACKGROUND DON'T WANT TO WORK INSTEAD THEY PREFER TO POSTING SOME USELESS PIX OF SOCIAL MEDIA SENDING FRIENDS REQUEST TO GUYS THEY THINKS THAT ARE WELL TO DO BEGGING MONEY, SOME SAID THEIR PAPA AND MAMA ARE DEAD WHILE OTHERS SAID THEY TRAVELLED, AT THE SAME TIME WEARING EXPENSIVE DESIGNER CLOTHES AND MAKE UPS.
    GIRL YOU TRY JOOR.

  31. Achievement ko, achievement ni. Mind you, her action is commendable. But doesn't warrant the wild applause. Young ones, especially in the rural areas do these everyday. I even do it whenever I visit my maternal home. If we all are not in the cities seeking other means of survival, we might as well be doing this. You have little or no farmlands in the towns and cities we reside, that doesn't make anyone less hardworking or "wife material". If so, then let everyone go back to their villages, get into farming then let's see who buys the Garri. No need for showcasing this biko.
    P.S. She has done well.
