N5bn reportedly found in account of an Army General's daughter

EFCC operatives have reportedly found N5 billion lodged in an account operated by the daughter of an Army General. According to an official in the antigraft agency who spoke on condition of anonymity to The Sun, investigations so far carried out into the account, showed that N10 million was sometimes deposited 5 to 6 times within a day.

The source stated that the Army general's daughter is under 30 and recently got married. The account officer, a lady who manages the account was subsequently invited by the EFCC. She gave useful information which led to the invitation of the Army General’s daughter towards the last week of August. The source stated that she pleaded for more time to enable her attend to her infant child.

The young nursing mother eventually turned up with her mother, baby, husband and lawyer about two weeks ago. And for two days, she faced interrogation though she was not detained because she is a nursing mother. “Details of the account show that cash deposits of about N10 million were consistently paid into the account sometimes five or six times a day. The money so far deposited into that account and another in London should well be over N5 billion”, the source said.

Investigators also discovered that even though the lady was still a student in the United Kingdom, hundreds of thousands of Pound Sterling were wired into the bank account of a London based firm’s bank account for her. The firm, Carrington Whyte Consulting with Flat 4, Grove End Gardens 33 Grove End Road NW8 9LL London, as its address, was curiously registered around June 2014 and shortly after, the funds began to hit its bank account from Nigeria in torrents.

Though the Army General’s daughter is currently on administrative bail, she is however, expected to report back for further interrogation next week. “We had to study her last statements, juxtapose them with our findings and draw up fresh questions for her and with which we confront her next week”, the source explained.

    5. People wise up all this no be case, u can't see money in persons account and come after the person, the onus its on efcc to tell the court that the money was stolen, u can't investigate and arrest some one if you can't prove the money is stolen. Thls is why efcc can never win any case, they don't act like professionals

You have made a very sensible comment. Many times, efcc just want to make people excited by these news which have no practical meaning. It is as if if you have only N50,000.00 in your bank acoount, it is a proof that you are not a thief. It isn't the amount that determines whether you are a thief or not. Efcc should please be more professional or else nobody will be prosecuted at the end of the day. KOLAQ

  22. Sincerely speaking, this is quite unfair. Many children are languishing in abject poverty, dying of malnutrition daily and without the fear of Almighty GOD, the giver of LIFE, you people are amassing these for your own children. GOD Almighty and the spirit of those that died as a result of this mess you plunged our nation into will judge you and your family. Why? This is too much.Remember that only the Mighty GOD can grant individual the life and sound health to enjoy whatever one acquired in life either legitimately or otherwise.

  32. Livingstone, u have no common sense, that's why the type of comments that gets off of you is like coming from a primary school child. Look at your life, you are here everyday commenting to any and everything, that Linda may give some hand out, yet you claim to have schooled at IMT, which as far as I a concerned is glorified secondary school.

So all the monies being discovered and some being returned by the thieves themselves, it's APC that's returning them? You will remain dependent on hand outs till you begin to reason

  38. EFCC isnt trustworthy: why hiding the identities of the general and his daughter and publishing GEJ's wife ....? Double standard is bad! Again is it when the suffering masses are dead that PMB will start using the recovered loot to set up industries that will create jobs? The stamp duty funds has run into trillions....why cant government start investing the cash to cushion the effects of recession on the masses? All EFCC knows how to do is to make headlines in the media. They are not really an INDEPENDENT BODY! I weep for our country.

  42. When I go through some people comments, it really saddened my mind and show that majority of us, the masses are being sentimental or that our sense of reasoning is faulty. Why can't we unanimously condemn these thieves instead some people make comment as if they do not deserve good living. The Army General's daughter and the former first lady, Can we say what they did was good. In fact, Nigeria is a complex country to govern because it is as if some people cherished being in poverty. If not, how can a sound mind be calling for the returns of PDP. To me, Poverty has made some people lost their sense of reasoning. If PDP were to be in government today with the rate they were looting the treasury, majority of us would have died of malnourishment while the looters and their families will be having sway time with the looted money. Please let's do away with ethnicity, we all deserve good livings like them.

  43. Fulani parasites. Efcc dare not call the person's name because the girl is hausa. Buratai or Buhari that will be shouting they were "rich before" whose 20 something year old daughter just bought N700 million house in Abuja, hausa corruption. Rags to riches on government money in 1 year while Nigeria is in recession, this dry wretched looking people just bought 700 million house but Buhari says he is fighting corruption. 45. I think what we need to do in our situation in this country is to replicate what the Israelites did in the land of Egypt. Our LORD is ever present to hear our cry. But my concern is that by the time the ALMIGHTY start descending on these LOOTERS.the calamity will be too much for them to bear. GOD is watching, giving them enough rope to hang themselves. People are dying of hunger and the gap between the rich and the poor is too wide. The thieves keep on telling us to maintain low profile while they and their children live an affluence life. Well, Rev. Sunday Mbang have said it all at his 80th birthday speech.Children should call their fathers to order if they don't want to inherit the wrath of GOD upon their fathers for their deeds. We are watching, waiting for the LORD's judgement because it looks as our hopes on the judiciary is compromised.
