The Director General National Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi OFR has visited one of the UN staff affected by insurgency attack on a humanitarian convoy returning from Bama to Maiduguri in Borno State, last week Thursday 28th July 2016.
The UNICEF Staff, Musa Konto, was one of the drivers in the convoy when it was ambushed by the insurgents but despite sustaining some injuries, he was able to his move his vehicle away from the location while the military escorts successfully repelled the attackers and fully neutralized the threats.
Alhaji Sidi, during the visit to the injured UN Staff at a private hospital in Abuja appreciated him and other humanitarian workers in the country for their continuous commitment to the cause of providing supports to the affected persons and communities in the northeast.
The DG, who was accompanied by some directors of the agency was received by Dr Ekwe Kingsley, the Director Surgical of the Hospital.
