Latest
figures released by the industry regulator for the month of June showed
that Globacom added a total of 272,674 new subscribers during the
month, moving from 26,355,391 internet subscribers
in May to 26,628,065 at the end of June.
Airtel
came second with 17,325,423 subscribers in June, thus increasing its
internet subscribers by 45,334, having ended the month of May with
17,280,089 internet subscribers.
The
duo of Etisalat and MTN, however, recorded losses. Etisalat lost a
total of 254,511 internet subscribers, moving from 15,508,024 internet
subscribers the operator had in May to 15,253,513
at the end of June.
MTN
Nigeria moved from 33,108,786 internet subscribers in May to 32,974,177
in June, thus losing a total of 134,609 internet subscribers.
The
introduction of more customer-friendly products and services by
Globacom and its significantly enhanced capacity could be responsible
for the continuous increase in the number of new
internet subscribers on the Globacom network. Prominent among these
offerings are Thank Glo It's Friday (TGIF) which gives Glo subscribers a massive 3GB of data on weekends at just N500, the Jollific8, widely acclaimed to be the best value for money
product in the industry and gives subscribers eight times the value of their recharge as well as the Data Overload.

ReplyDeleteData is another thing Glo has gotten right. And with more of my contacts on Glo, my call tariff will even be lower. I therefore urge all LIBers to port to Glo, if they are not there already. We are Nigerians in word and in deed.
