Vice President Yemi Osinbajo leads Nigeria's delegation to AU Summit in Rwanda

President Muhammadu Buhari will be represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, at the African Union Summit formally opening on Sunday in Kigali, Rwanda. The 27th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) is scheduled to hold from 17 to 18 July, 2016, although a retreat of African Heads of State and Governments has been scheduled for today July 16 ahead of the formal summit opening on Sunday. The Session has been preceded by the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) and the 28th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the Union at the ministerial level ending today.

The AU summit theme is African Year of Human Rights with a particular focus on the Rights of Women. 2016 is also being celebrated by the Union as the year of Human Rights with the aim of raising awareness on human and peoples’ rights, particularly women’s rights, on the continent and taking stock of progress or efforts made, including major challenges and/or obstacles encountered.

Prof. Osinbajo, who is being accompanied by Finance Minister Mrs. Kemi Adeosun and Ambassador Babagana Kingibe among other functionaries, leaves for Kigali today and is expected back on Monday.

  6. Who cares?U guys came into government with bad luck and everything dried up,d economy crashed, job loss and all.Buhari and Osibajo u have not asked God why u two r not favoured.Shame on u especially, u r comfortable as VP for egoistic reasons but ur association with d devil's advocate is bringing untold hardship upon us.A major airline is going to fold up by next week with well over 2500 workers loosing their jobs because a government doesn't know how to manage a situation, they don't know to transform an ailing economy to @ least an average productive economy. We can not access forex, from 17 aircrafts to 3 aircrafts we can't get forex to bring in our aircrafts. May God almighty punish all our past leaders with Buhari inclusive and punish him again presently for not having d commercial and economic posture to attract investment rather he has killed investment and for u Osibajo it's obvious u r a fake pastor, God will punish u and ur family for being a party to evil. U claim to b a Pastor but u hob nob with men of questionable political and moral character like Tinubu. I am in tears because btw now and next week dis government is going to make me leave my country to go and b a second class citizen abroad. My unborn children will never know there wus a country called Nigeria cause it failed their father right from his birth

  12. Buhari will never let this man lead lead delegation to any Western country . He will just be revolving him around African summits . You are a prof. And a pastor and nobody can take that from, a meek lamb in the vine yard of the lord.

  15. When it's time to visit the Western world, Buhari will jump into private jet and go. But Osibanjo is only good for African Countries, North East and Niger Delta visits. This Buhari is very wicked indeed.Ijust pity this VP. I thank God he is a Pastor. God will continue to guide and protect you in Jesus name.
