What really is Justice?- Freeze

OAP Freeze put his 2 cents in the Richard-Lekki building collapse saga and his arrest. Read the rest of the post below:

Someone must pay!
Now my questions;
Why is he in handcuffs and remanded in prison when that 'prophet' whose building collapsed and killed more people than Ebola, Lassa fever and this alleged 'LEKKI gardens' put together is walking free??? Why is that prophet not in handcuffs too??? It was even alleged, that he didn't show up in court the last time the courts sat. Is this true??? If it is true, then why is Richard 'remanded' in prison while Mr prophet 'comes from home'??? Is there a special court for 'prophets' or do we have special 'laws' for them???
Is our government afraid of prophets???
Are the people who lost their lives in the Church less valuable than the people who lost their lives in the LEKKI Gardens saga?
My humble advice: Richard should be released to go home and attend hearings from home like the 'prophet'. Or the 'prophet' should be picked up, handcuffed and locked in the same cell with Richard while he attends trial!
Or does the change we voted for include turning Nigeria into the African version of George Orwell's 'Animal Farm', where "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others?"
I might not know law and justice, but I definitely know injustice!
I appeal to everyone to lend their voice to this and ensure we have 'JUSTICE FOR ALL'
Please retweet this hashtag untill we are heard! #Justice4All

The prophet your talking about is pastor T joshua,if u get ur facts and findings correctly, u will recall he appeared in court the 1st day(although not in cuffs)it the south Africa hearing he didn't show up. Now for your friend Richard (although the cuffs is wrong)but he has to face the music, the building didn't have approval for additional falls, please workers safety wasn't provided, why should the workers be sleeping there?all for cheap labor, and this also shows the quality of materials used to cut cost. And just as u rightly said all animals are equal,TRUE, prison sef na for human. For me he should dance to the music he has played to serve as a lesson to other to change their music.

  25. ur perspective towards injustice is built on the supporting structure of sentiments rather than facts.. I believe that there's a wide range of difference between a prophet and a contractor... these men has caused catastrophe that cost human lives as a result of negligence, greed and inexperience... I believe on the other hand that a prophet would not be held responsible for a structural failure

  26. This guy is obviously stupid for comparing the situation. The bottom line is that people have died. So because the past govt didn't lock up Joshua, the MD shouldn't be locked up? 28. While I agree with Freeze"s logic I see reason the government is miffed at Richard. If the property was sealed and he broke that seal to continue building extra floors against pls, then bro, you totally have no case. Let Richard chill there. The Law applies to the rich too you know.
The collapsed church you mentioned was not under construction and neither did it have an injunction to deny entry, so try again.

Many of the political class /men in authority visit that prophet so they by themselves have tied there own hands, mouth and feet on the souls that perished at his church building collapse but Mr Richard here is like an orphan but God neither sleeps nor slumber, He will judge everyone accordingly

Their is a difference between the two, Lekki gardens is a house developer ( the major in that business) the other is a pastor that had his building collapsed... Tb Joshua dont sell buildings to make money unlike Lekki gardens ... U font endanger lives cos u wanna make quick money... That building was sealed off but the MDs greed and conscience did not stop him from doing the correct thing, he instead continued after Lagos state government didn't approve it... 46. I totally agree with freeze on this one. And to think that this would arguably be the first real estate company to deliver and even start building houses en masse before full payment. Though they have their shortcomings but what baffles me is how lekki gardens can be guilty of sharp practices and the lagos state monitoring bodies are not. They definitely knew and looked the other way. With the corruption in the oil and gas industry you dare not build a fuel depot and add extra tanks without DPRs approval, that depot would be sealed no matter how much you bribe. So I just wonder how lekki gardens built extra floors and the agencies didn't know. May the Almighty console the bereaved.

Are we saying dat due to such collapse of our economy people have not been dying from poverty, starvation, poor health care, insecurity, frustration even etc. I know someone should pay for it but there should be equality in justice in Nigeria.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Under Nigerian laws, a defendant (he has been arraigned so no longer a suspect) is to be arraigned unfettered ie without any handcuffs or restraint whatsoever except in circumstances where he is violent, likelihood of escape etc. Oga lekki boss shld nt even be on handcuffs in the first place no matter the offence, some citizens know their rights and are not intimidated by the "state" while others prolly think is the norm...that's the first leg on the handcuff issue..now to the second leg of attending hearing from home

  53. Dear freeze, God bless you! I concur. This is a clear case of injustice. All animals are equal. Some cannot be more equal than others! I stand with you... # JusticeforAll #FreeRichard

  54. Exactly my thoughts! When we are scared of religious leaders like they are God. Reminds me of how some people fear babalawos. If they wan lock Richard for the collapse of the building, then Joshua of synagogue should be locked up as well. Why should some people be above the law while others are not?

    ReplyDelete
  55. TB Joshua's case is different from Richard's case in many ways and getting a good lawyer may not be sufficient. Don't be surprised that wole olaonipekun is playing both sides, everybody befriends the government. The best he may do is negotiate a soft landing for Richard. I don't know a lot about joshua's case but the little I know will suffice.

    1. TB Joshua's prosecution started under an outgoing fashola while the current case is being prosecuted under a zealous ambode who is trying to impress lagosians .

    2. TB Joshua didn't break government seal to resume work on his site but Richard did and that in itself is criminal. It's a clear case of manslaughter.

3.Why did the Lagos state government rush to give preliminary findings without waiting for full investigation? Is Akpabio behind LG has touted in many circles? If yes this may be an opportunity for an APC govt led by ambode to attack his source of funding. If the Lagos state govt have an axe to grind with akpabio this will be tough for Richard. If you doubt me check Dasuki vs Buhari.

    4. Instead of LG to lay low, They were wrongfully advised to issue a false press release that was easily destroyed by few artisans who survived that collapse. For heavens sake some of those artisans havent even been paid their wages for weeks . By doing that they destroyed any public sympathy well meaning lagosians should have for them. Trust me public sympathy also matter in dispense of justice.

I can go on and on but it won't bring the dead back. RIP to the dead, may every party involved learn a thing or two.

The judgement was so swift, in cuffs now, jail next, its that how its done? in this case fewer people died unlike the other case in reference and yet here it's a swift judgement, what exactly is the problem here?
The blind eyes of the media once again talking without reasoning, no one builds up a house just to bring it down costly mistake though, i hear it was an uncompleted building
    1. not yet finished and commissioned (a building site has lots of safety measures for a reason)
    2. illegally inhabited "They weren't all builders"
fell in the early hours of the morning" so they couldn't be working"

  70. Well said FREEZE. You have my respect. The PROPHET should also be arrested immediately, remanded in prison custody and we all watch his trial too. Equal justice for all. Not a supporter of Richard and his substandard projects, but the LASG should be fair and give equal rights to all in Lagos. Well over 100 people died in the 'church' collapse and the man has the audacity not to appear in court. Why has he not been arrested? Instead we get the President (thank God the clown has been removed) and Governors' going to visit him. Justice for the dead, Justice for Richard, Justice for the Prophet. The Prophet must be arrested immediately and tried. His building had no approved building plan and the situation is as bad as the collapsed Lekki Garden's property. Worse really. I am sure if you were in his shoes, you would have been declared missing by now. The authorities have no right to hold him in prison after willfully turning himself in and not resisting arrest. He
has fundamental human rights too. The worst they should have done is take custody of his travel papers, Grant him bail and instruct him to show up at court whenever needed.

    1. @Anonymous 12:31PM If you read my comments and digested it properly, you wont comment senselessly here. Recall that Freeze referred to APC's "change" campaign sluggan by saying; "is this the change we voted for". This is what i was reacting to. When Fashola was there, APC did not have this "change" campaign that Freeze is accusing APC of. Moreover, APC was not in power at the Federal level. This could also affect the state level as Jonathan could bribe a judge or order a court to slow down on a case or give TB Joshua soft landing without Fashola's knowledge. Of course the judge will obey because he doesnt want to lose his job. All i am saying is Freeze should not blame it on Buhari's "change" campaign which was not in existence when TB Joshua's building collapsed. Also, Jonathan consulted TB Joshua on spiritual matters. So dont blame it on APC. APC didnt have much powers then even if the governor of lagos state then was an APC man.

TB Joshua went to court for a civil suit, in civil cases u don't have remanded or handcuffed, the manager on the other hand went to court on a criminal charge, in criminal cases u get remanded and handcuffed! I believe u hv a nam to protect so pls, earn our respect by talking like someone wt a brain!

  98. Those of you speaking for tb joshua are ignoramus. His building that collapsed was the guest house where his mugus from abroad mostly lodged. The buliding was originally 3 floors but apparently he was greedy as he wanted all his mugus to lodge at his guest house, he decided to add 3 more floors to the exisiting 3 floors. And all these without govt approval. As I'm writing this, one building which had been marked for demolition because it's becoming a tower of babel without govt approval is still standing. So what are we talking abt here? TB Joshua too should be arrested, handcuffed & sent to jail. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Anyway I know it is not possible bcos if the sitting president then, oga jonah could visit him to comisserate with him on the building collapose,m what do you expect a governor to do? But as I said earlier, what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Joshua too should be handcuFfed & sent to jail

  101. Mr freeze..u are just full of shit.d scenarios are different here! And yes ofcourse, some animals are more equal than others...d deceased persons were in dat uncompleted building at their own volition!say what? Who says he can be free bcos TB Joshua is free? There are age mates but there can be no 'gracemate'...arresting TB Joshua is like arresting a spirit! For those agitating for his arrest,i hope they know what they are doing!
I sincerely pray dat d law tenders justice with mercy in d case of Richards v d LGS.
