Photos: Shehu of Borno's brother dies at UNILAG guest house fire

The brother of Shehu of Borno State and a former Auditor General of Borno State, Mallam Abbah Kyari has been confirmed dead in a fire outbreak that gutted a section of the University of Lagos Guest House in the early hours of Thursday, March 3.

According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) the deceased who was a member of the delegation of Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, the new Chancellor of UNILAG, died of suffocation. The monarch and his delegation were at the university to attend El-Kanemi's installation which in ongoing.

The fire started at about 2am while all occupants of the complex were asleep. The deceased died of suffocation. His body has been flown to Borno state where he is expected to be buried today according to Islamic rite.

    1. It is not about renovation. The building itself is an old structure. The plan is bad. Needs to be destroyed & rebuilt
