Tinubu argued that the documentary was aimed at tarnishing his image.
At the resumed hearing of the case today February 5th, counsel to Bola Tinubu, Wole Olanipekun and AIT's counsel, Mike Ozekhome, announced to the judge, Justice Iyabode Akinkugbe, that both parties have agreed for an out of court settlement after the management of AIT on January 29th, sent a letter of apology to Tinubu.
The letter in part reads
"DAAR Communications Plc acknowledges that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an outstanding political leader of unblemished character and integrity, as well as a leading public figure and opinion-moulder, who has made and continuous make immense contributions to the progress and development of the nation in general and Lagos State in particular. DAAR Communications Plc admits that in airing the said documentary, it had no intention, whatsoever, to embarrass or diminish the high reputation of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu which it respects and attests to”Confirming the request for an out of court settlement, Olanipekun urged the court to adopt the settlement terms and allow them settle out of court. Justice Akinkugbe after adopting the settlement by both parties, ordered DAAR Communications Plc to publicly and unequivocally retract the documentary and also tender an unreserved public apology to Tinubu.

ReplyDeleteA welcome development and beneficial to all parties. Every developed or developing country needs men like Asiwaju Tinubu who brave all odds to make the unthinkable possible. AIT is also a giant conglomerate, one whose strides are well entrenched in our chequered history. Congratulations to the legal luminaries who saw this as the best of options. It really is. One Nigeria.

ReplyDeleteThe documentary remains a valid document well research, and contains info that if truly investigated will lavished Bola Ahmed Tinubu in jail forever. Apology my ass! Just because APC is in power today? Time shall tell and the truth will be revealed, plus all the murder cases Tinubu is linked with including that of Funsho Williams, Bola Ige, Adedibu, etc..
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't Bola Ahmed Tinubu go on a national TV and tell the public that he is not guilty of at least one of his crimes revealed in the documentary? He who kills by the sword will surely die by the sword. It's just a matter of time. Period!!!
The allegations were true,Tinubu has finished Lagos.
