President Obama's 'best photos' list.

January first marks not only a new year, but the last of Barack Obama's presidency. So perhaps that's the reason White House photographer Pete Souza found it so hard to come up with his yearly 'best photos' list. Souza, who has been photographing the president throughout his entire administration, released his annual 'Year in Photographs' list. See more photos below:

While visiting the Whitney Museum in New York City, the President hugged his daughter Malia as they looked at the art work

 'He was just excited to see you,’ one of the salmon fisherwoman exclaimed after a salmon spawned on the President’s feet at Kanakanak Beach in Bristol Bay, Alaska

The President exchanges a wave with Alya Dorelien Bitar, one-year-old daughter of Maher Bitar, the outgoing National Security Council Director for Israeli and Palestinian Affairs, and his wife, Astrid Dorelien

    i love this president.
    I love the picture he is lying on his back and lifting the toddler to the air..i wonder if our dear president can do same with him in his suits.
    On an official note the best picture should be the one he walks with the crowd,that describes him as a man of the people.

    The Obama's do not need a biography. They need only a Pictography and their story is told.
    I was so in love with the Obama's I threw a party to celebrate their inauguration. But how I wished they had been strong enough to steer the world away from warfare and terror. In the end every attempt will be made to rank them as just human rather than superhuman. But photographs do not lie. I think no American Citizen will ever match the sense of sportsmanship and egalitarianism exhibited by the Obama's in the White House. That photograph of President Obama lying on the floor and hoisting a child is one of the greatest pictographs of the super humanity of Obama's deflation of power and ego. It takes superhuman capacity to minimize the ego and achieve that.

    U can clearly understand why the world is obsessed with this man. He not just turned around the US economy, he is strong and firm, yet human, humane and unassuming. Obama is without doubt the best president US has had and may ever have. He is the best world leader. Fullstop

    Very sweet pictures! The best two for me are those of him lying down like Stromae on the floor raising the baby up and the meeting with the mini Pope. Those of him meeting Shaquille O’Neal, invoking a rainbow, and entertaining an intruder trying to pass a signal by knocking on the window behind him are the ones with huge "?".....
