Mum tweets her child's homework from school with spelling errors

A spelling exercise for year six pupils with obvious spelling mistakes made by the teacher has gone viral-after an irritated mum shared it on Twitter. The homework task, supposedly designed to help the primary school children with their SATS exams, gives a list of six words they are expected to learn to spell. But two words -sincerely spelled incorrectly as "sincerley" and immediately spelled as "immediateley"- stick out as obvious errors. There was also a typo in the last sentence where the word 'you' should read 'your.'

    1. Let's hope it's a typographical error, but the teacher should have cross checked before giving it out to the kids.

  18. I believe I spotted another error. It should read "..pick up the following week", but it says "...pick up the following work". Na wa. Teacher don't teach me nonsense

  19. While such errors are just too bad, it is uncharitable for a parent to expose it in such a way. Meeting the teacher would've been enough. As a mother, she makes mistakes too. Let her tweet hers for a balance.

  25. Good morning,I have a few things to point out here.Linda,SAT isn't written to help pupils get into secondary school.it's a pre college qualification for English speaking countries.

    secondly,year 6 is primary school.year 7-11/12 is secondary and then university/college.

I hope the twitter mommy will however make her complaints known to the right school authorities instead of throwing a tantrum on social media.

    1. In the UK, year 6 pupils take SATs. Its not the same one as they take in final year of high school in the USA. Be informed before you say what you don't know.

  26. "...will then pick up in class the following work"(*week). The school should refund a part of the school fees as change for these poor lessons.
