Fayose cautions Buhari over probe of military chiefs, says "$2.1bn arms deal is a scam"

Read the press statement from Ekiti state government below...
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has advised President Mohammadu Buhari on his order for 18 Military Generals to be probed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged involvement in the $2.1 billion arms deal.
Governor Fayose, who reacted to the president order for the 18 serving and retired military chiefs to appear before the EFCC from Monday, through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said the military officers ought to have been probed in accordance with the armed forces rules of engagement.

The governor, who reiterated his support for the fight against corruption, said "the $2.1 billion arms deal is a scam because all that they are just doing is to brandish figures to deceive Nigerians and demonized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and those opposed to his dictatorship in the All Progressive Congress (APC). Till today, the amount they have charged people for stealing is not up to N10 billion and $2.1 billion they claimed was stolen is about N600 billion.

"The president must let Nigerians see where the arms deal is in the 2015 Budget and publish details of the imaginary $2.1 billion scam. Also, the President must tell Nigerians how his friend, Jafaru Isa was able to return N100 million to the EFCC within three days because there are insinuations that the N100 million refunded came from the Presidency."

He said it was strange for serving military generals to be interrogated by junior police officers, adding that; "The president should not act in a way that he will be perceived as ridiculing the armed forces."

He said; "Even though I am not a military officer, but I know that there is what us called orderly room trial or court martial, which military men who erred in the performance of their duties are made to go through. It is until they are found guilty and probably dismissed that they are made to face court trial.

"In this case, how does it feel for a serving Military General to be interrogated by an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)? "I think we should not destroy our democratic institutions, especially the judiciary and the armed forces because we are fighting corruption. "Already, the President has ridiculed the judiciary by disobeying the courts and coming on television to say that orders oyf the court do not hold waters. He is also destroying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by turning it to commission for inconclusive elections. He should not ridicule the military, and men of goodwill should advise the President to thread cautiously.

"Also, the international community, especially the United States, United Kingdom and the United Nations should caution the President against actions capable of bringing down institutions of government under the guise of fighting corruption."

Yet the keep feeding us with all the propagandas and mudslinging. I know Nigeria hasnever been sucessful with govt but havving one that lies this much is the worst of it all.

    5. Fayose is just an unrefined, uncultured bush man. This is what happens when you vote touts into power. By you addressing the president in an insulting manner without respect, are you any better? And you are saying junior officers should not be asked to probe military officers because it is a sign of disrespect. Do you respect your President that is your senior both in age and office? Pls go and hug transformer. Bloody hypocrate. Idiot!

    6. Which school did Fayose go to sef? Because he talks like an iliterate. How can you say the $2.1b is a scam when Dasuki and a lot of people have confessed and are returning money. I am very sure Fayose is guilty of this arms deal that's why he is calling it a scam. I think Fayose should be probed.

    7. Fayose let them finish the probing before you start calling the arms deal a scam. Pls let Buhari work abeg. Dont distract him with your hypocritical talk.

Why didnt you tell GEJ what to do during the time of PDP? Pls let Buhari work and mind your business. Start by paying your workers salaries in Ekiti State.

It those not matter what rank the person is holding or what position is carrying .if Ayo dele Peter If arose must be educated, Assistant Commissioner of Police by the every standard is not a junior rank. On the Armed Forces, is equivalent of a Colonel, a Group Captain or Air Commandeer. So, if arose should shot his ride moth and face the business of governing the beautiful state of Rkiti State.

  73. Andrew Anetor, same on you a thousand times. An old man that lacks common sense. can't you read simple english? $2.1 billion is like 600 million naira and they haven't realized even 10 billion naira. it's obvious they forged this arms scam because so far so good, all the people named, from their statements it shows the said delusional money are campaign funds used by PDP. where did the apc get their campaign funds from? states like rivers, lagos, imo coffers to name but a few were stolen from to fund buhari's campaign. Apc spent much more than pdp doing the campaign and election period. All the travels to and fro UK and USA, where were the funds from, manna from heaven? so see just shout the trap and go back to alaba to hustle. because you look too retarded and old to talk rubbish. After troubling GEJ's government, they want peace of mind, and they think the only way to achieve that is to suppress the opposition by making false allegations and all that. buhari should prove to us that there is a missing $2.1 billion. even if 20 people returns 100 million naira, it's not even up to 1/100 of $2.1 billion which is like 420 billion if i even pit #200/usd so where is your common sense. During campaign seasons, a whole lot of money are spent. pdp did fund raising for that purpose, apc did too + some states funds they stole. so shame on you old retard@andrew anetor. and as for that son of a slave called omooba i could remember when you were shouting that gej made $=$220. so here is the thing for those of us into business, because a retarded being like you can't be informed, as of october 2014, i bought usd at #165, by november it rose to #172, now since 2012/2013 there has be a decline in oil prices, gej's government were able to manage the economy with the limited funds realized from oil sales because to channel attention to other alternatives like agriculture and so on. as to why usd rose from 165 in october to 190 by december/january wasn't because of decline in oil share but because of scarcity of dollar note. why was there this scarcity, because our politicians both apc and pdp were sourcing usd for campaigns in which buhari and gej were also culprits because they were beneficiaries of the campaign funds. let's say he left usd at #220 per $, what what is the difference, like 50+ to 60+ difference. now usd is #330 per $ as of today and your principle is busy chasing shadows in the name of fighting corruption. @ omo oba, here is your new name amoeba. you are a disgrace to youths, because low species like you exhibit their dumbness to their grave. under buhari's watch, usd would still hit #500/$. you all we see.

  83. Seems probing is the only thing Buhari knows how to do, what of the security and health of the people you are rulling mr president, what are you doing about the militants in Niger Delta and the outbreak of laser fever or have you not heard about them? It will be a very big shame to your government if you are not able to eradicate laser fever while Jonathan that you are insulting succesfully eradicated ebola in a short period of time.

  84. As always, Fayose "The Wise and Fearless" is on the roll to mislead his mules again. For one, no one us above the law, whether a serving military man or a roadside mechanic. Furthermore, Fayose with the resources before him as governor, was well aware long before the rest of us that these military men diverted funds meant for purchase of arms, bought unserviceable arms at thrice the price of new ones and did other vile things that led to the death of thousands of their colleagues. That's a wicked crime. And I'm happy this government, unlike the one Fayose defends, does not differentiate between stealing and corruption, and between goats and sheep. Sir, keep deceiving people. You immunity is not going to last forever.

  85. There is no amount of propaganda and blackmail that could nullify your cohorts' level of atrocities, those who were supposed to protect the unity and sovereignty of this country now turned to looters jeopardizing the lives of soldiers fighting without up to date hardwares while the generals were busy building mansions all over the places and here is a Governor ranting, I wonder what someone like Fayose will not do with Police if they are to be controlled by the State. PDP played politics with everything including the security of you and me and here are the consequences, I hope the battle against corruption is won outrightly/holistically because those enemies aren't repented.....#just be just#

I have said APC is a scam I swear people defending him are doing it in shame bc they have no choice.Fayose is saying the truth anybody insulting him is the bigger fool

Am not surprise at all, even their forefathers died of gullibility, greediness nd hatred, now the new generation have taken over of the same thing... U pple re just evil nd disaster to the progress of this country.... Fayose is a politician nd tackling the opposition with falsehood is welcome in politics but not the nation

  92. This fayose should keep quiet already...when a military personnel commits an offence within the larger civil society like the embezzlement...it's is the responsibility of the police or such law enforcement agency as empowered to handle such to do same.

All of you guys will rot in hell especially this Fayofool. Rubbish...

  95. Sir, please you better shut up because the more you talk, the more you expose your lack of common sense. Most times silence helps a man to learn from others who knows better. You are becoming a disgrace to your position. ACP has the right to investigate anybody.

  96. It is sad to know that some people are angry that Buhari is probing these animals. This is just the tip of the iceberg.Barde and Mamu killed the Air force.Things are going to come out.Even though Jonathan was told about these animals in uniforms ,he ended up even reward them with national honours. The former president was warned and i know because i was one of the people that warned him.In a good society they would face firing squad.Because of them two pilots died

  97. Fayose should shut up! He should just get ready for his own, there is evidence this time. God bless Capt Sagir.

  98. Did the officers realise they would be insulted when they were appropriating/diverting the money meant for some other purposes. Governor Fayose should face his own responsibility and leave justice to take its own course.
