Father Mbaka says he is going to suffer following his transfer to another Parish

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, yesterday Jan. 30th bowed out of Christ the King Parish, GRA, Enugu, which he'd presided over as parish priest for 20 years. On his way to his new presiding parish, Our lady Parish, Emene, in Enugu, over 30 lorries accompanied by thousands of his faithful followers escorted him in a motorcade to a new church where he will be an assistant parish priest.

The transfer of reverend fathers is not an issue in the catholic church as it is a routine exercise that is done every once in a while but Fr. Mbaka’s transfer became an issue because the people saw it as a measure for his recent prophecies especially that of December 31st 2014, when he predicted that former President Goodluck Jonathan would be defeated in the 2015 elections. This has however been dismissed by the church.

His transfer as a parish priest to a resident priest, in which  he will serve under another priest, has also caused a stir among people because he has been with the catholic church for years so it is only normal to make him the parish priest and not an assistant.

While handing over formally to his successor yesterday, Mbaka  said:
“I know we are going to suffer; between now and few months to come, I am going to suffer; I am going to suffer because I have no place to lay my head; I am  going to suffer because I have no place to keep the Ministry’s assets; I know I am going to suffer; fortunate going to suffer because I have no ly it’s going to happen in the month of Lent; so I am going to use my exit here to observe the Lent. But Jesus said it to His apostles in John 16:20, ‘You will be sorrowful and the world will be rejoicing but very soon I will turn your sorrows to joy.’ So I am waiting for that moment because for now I know we are going to suffer. The Adoration Ministry is passing through suffering right now; even though I have accepted it as the will of God; it is the will of God through suffering; it is a mega suffering. But however, the grace of God will carry us all; even though some of you may pray that God should remove this thorn from us, the scripture says ‘His grace is sufficient for us; for its even in your weakness that the power of God is demonstrated. So we are moving but don’t forget the scriptures, ‘my brothers they make me keeper of vineyards, my own vineyard I keepeth not. All these while we have been keeping vineyards, building for Christ The King Parish…Bishop Gbuji asked them, how much …but because I don’t want to disclose my charity, they can’t keep that account. How many trailer loads of cement came here? All the monies I made from my cassette and other private crusades all of them were used to build this church. We cannot quantify it but let God be glorified.”
“It is the will of God, and when the will of God either permissive or however, happens, nobody should question it. All you have today is Amen; so to the will of God Fr. Mbaka has said Amen".
He said he's accepting the decision of the church leadership with absolute obedience, adding  that nobody should see him as an obstinate priest. He also assured them that the parish would not collapse due to his exit, and urged the members to treat his successor, Rev. Fr. Theodore Ozoamalu, well, and to assist him in any way he needs help and not allow him to cry.
“Don’t starve him; don’t allow him to suffer; in my own time I didn’t need your help because God blessed me in my own unique way and I am happy. God will keep the parish because we have fought the good fight; I am not regretting anything and the highest gift God has given here is his Holy Spirit who assisted me up till now" he said.

    2. Thank God for the transfer. This transfer means development for the new parish because Catholics in AMEN would love to make the new parish up to point.
Priests like Mbaka would always shine out like light even when he is taken to rural areas like Fr John Vianney did in his time.

Father Mbaka right from the time of former governor Chimaroke of Enugu state would always say what the Holy spirit directs him to say not minding his safety or whose ox is gored.
In this new parish, he would continue to be outspoken ; whether his messages are considered political would not matter because if he refuses to say, the HOLY SPIRIT would strike him.
People have different spiritual gifts which should be obeyed inspite of the number of enemies you would make from fulfilling your spiritual callings.

Fr.Mbaka, God really loves you. He is using you to spread his gospel to the ends of the earth. Go to the new parish and start what his last testament said : Go and spread my gospel to the ends of the earth.
You are really favoured because many souls would be saved in this new area because of your transfer.

They see that guy can vacillate a lot, they see how he went about his biz with GEJ, they don't want same to happen to them so they're cutting him down to size. Classic political use and dump.

    2. But honestly he was turning into a political priest, I don't feel sorry for him. What was he looking for at the presidential villa? Is that part of his ministry? He was also interacting with patience Jonathan until they fell out and he decided to speak against them and canvass support for buhari. He shouldn't be so loud as a catholic priest. He is the first Nigerian parish priest I've seen flying in a private jet, let him humble himself and remember his true calling as a priest and leave all this politicians alone

How many priests go on social media and make direct comments about politics. Discretion Discretion Lessons in humility. Go with God. The annointer will sustain the oil if you remain humble and obey the rules. Stay away from social media. Face the work and pray dangerously behind the scenes. The effect is even more.

God has just blessed the parishioners of our lady's Catholic church Emene. And am sure they are rejoicing. Have u forgotten there was no church in Christ the king parish wen he was transfered there supposedly for him to suffer but he came and created a haven. He is a builder. He has just been giving a new task. It may not be easy but God is his strength

    3. @anonymous 3:30pm. Check the meaning of social media and the various implications. . When you occupy public office like the priesthood and or any office where your comnents spread like wildfire, you become a social media sensation overnight and when you make direct comments when you have a large 'following" how isnit spread. Wake up. Mbaka face your calling, God can easily pass the mantle to another person. Remain humble. See what happened to Saul. God located David sharp sharp when Saul became self serving. The anointing was still on Sail when he died but he was using it to pursue and try to kill David. Thr anointing became a burden. A word is enough for the wise. Stop complaining. Go and serve!

  67. According to the Code of Canon Law (The book that contains the general rules and laws of the Roman Catholic Church); Priests are ordained for either a Diocese or Religious Congregation and not for a particular parish; and since The Church is One and Universal, they can be transferred to work anywhere, even outside their Dioceses. Ref. Canon 190-191 and 538.
Hence, transfer of priests is part of the Church's tradition. It is not alien to the Church!!!
Abeg! No priest is ordained for a particular tribe, people, parish, community or locality.

  68. the transfer and demotion was since overdue; as a catholic priest he crossed his boundaries and should have been suspended but laity council tempered justice with mercy. A priest should be example of how people should be obidient to authorities. Catholic priest are not known for frivolous life style (flying private

  72. som ppl r saying as a priest he z supposed to b transfered, yea true. But wen u start up ur ministry esp dat as big as AMEN u r neva bound to b,that's how its done. He has put too much into dat church n ministry n wen he says he will suffer he means via his ministry probably how dey will cope. For Christ sakes he z an assistant priest now, he literally has to seek permission before he does ANYTHING even via his ministry. He stayed in his parish for 20 yrs. How many priests do u know stayed dat long before been transferred.

  93. In as much as I don't support wot he said abt GEJ, den is not enuf reason for dem to make him assistant priest. This is jealousy, conspired by other priests and d Enugu bishop to degrade mbaka like diz.what wil dey achieve by demoting him? I am a Catholic and I knw how jealous priests can be wen one of dem is ahead of d others.dat was d same way dey conspired against Fr Emma Okwara wen he was doing well in CKC Aba with adoration, since he left d adoration has not been d same and many pple stopped coming and now fr Emma is doing more well and furthered his education even to d extent of being a priest and a lecturer....Nwa mbaka ogu,ur God is with u and he wil show dem y he is ur God....its well....Amen

  100. Rev Fr Hassan Kuka was at some point more vocal and radical. Arch Bishop Olubunmi Okogie never spared IBB. For a long while the Anglican Communion and the Catholic Church had been at the vanguard of defending Nigeria's democracy. No one demoted them. There is an injustice here and that is why APC is speaking out against the pressures from Ohaneze.

    ReplyDelete
  101. When the Spirit of God leads no opposition can stand against it. If his demotion is organized under pressure from Ohaneze, then they should sorely be afraid and repent their action.

  102. 20 years was far too long to stay in one parish! Why the noise about been transfered anyway? I believe it is a purely administative decision.

  103. What a sad story, am not a Catholic, don't know much about their system of operation, but one thing i strongly believe is that God can never forsake his true child no matter what he is going true, atimes the way of man is different from God, whether conspiracy or no conspiracy as long as you're his child, he Wil always turn your sorrow into joy and bring shame to the devil. You can use Jesus, Joseph, Daniel, shedrach, meshack, and abednego as a case study, if devil knew taking Jesus to the cross Wil strip off his powers colossians 2:15,he would ve respected himself, the same thing with Joseph, if his brothers knew selling him out Wil position him to fulfilling his dreams, they wouldn't have conspired against him cos that's what they dreaded most, but same with Daniel, shedrach, meshack and abednego. As long as you're connected to the true God whether politics or no politics, jus relax and thankGod for your transfer cos it's of a greater glory. God bless you sir.

  105. The true test of obedience for any Catholic priest is obedience. Fr. Mbaka was not the first and will not be the last priest to be sent to a backward parish from the one he is coming from. Many of us Catholics in Lagos are familiar with Fr. Osigwe and the late Fr. Adegbite who were being transferred now and then once the develop a parish. Fr. Osigwe was a crown puller in Ikorodu, he single-handled lifted At. Augustine's from obscurity to a Mecca of a Healing centre. The then Archbishop Lagos now Cardinal Okogie moved him out to a remote place in Sango-Otta, to St. Mary's. Go to St. Mary's now, a place that was once a bush is now a very busy place. Fr. Adegbite's own was worse. He was known to have built up many parishes on Lagos mainland before being move to Lekki when it was still a bush. Lekki can boast of over 50 outstations from Divine Mercy, Ave Maria Grotto, SS. Philip and James which now being groomed to be a Cathedral. The transfer of Fr. Mbaka is a strategic movement to develep Our Lady's Parish. Watch out and see!
