WFM91.7, Nigeria's 1st radio station for women hits airwaves, due for launch Dec. 18th

Their sweet sonorous voices melded to resonate as a final distillation of hope, an ultimate blooming of relief. It’s the drowning out of false voices. Thus when Nigeria stirred Monday, November 16, to the soothing, husky lilt of Tito Bez-Idakula a.k.a Terrific Tito, not a few people were captivated by the pleasant synergy of her voice with great, fluid afro-centric music comfortingly dished out on her frequency, WFM 91.7, Nigeria’s first radio station for women.

No sooner did Terrific Tito signed off on her beat than Funmi Jinadu took over and kept everyone’s company with her resonant voice. Bisola Aiyeola equally stunned with her calming bedroom tenor. The three voices carefully selected amongst over 5,000 voices have recently taken over the airwaves in Lagos and Ogun states to the delight of radio listeners. WFM 91.7 will be formally launched on December 18, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, with Mrs. Folorunso Alakija as key note speaker, amongst 500 select women and 50 men that support women causes.

No doubt, NBC made a wise decision by licensing Nigeria’s first radio station for women. There is no gainsaying the radio station has commenced operation with a dazzling array of on-air-personalities with unparalleled international exposure needed to drive the medium to the apogee of radio broadcasting in Nigeria.
Though female centric, WFM 91.7 also caters for the men and the family by engaging on issues of local, national and international importance for all. It is primed to be a reliable, leading and trusted source of all related news, information and matters of interests for women and their families.”
