GIGM unveils new logo, Jibowu terminal

God Is Good Motors Limited, (GIGM) one of the nation’s leading transport companies on Thursday unveiled its new logo, GIGM.com, and new ultra-modern terminus located in Jibowu part of Lagos state. The new terminal, with state of the art facilities, is one of its kind in Nigeria and mostly tech driven with self-help services to make booking and seat reservations easier and more convenient for travellers.

Speaking during the event, chairman/chief executive officer of the company, Mr Chidi Odiase Ajaere said that the unveiling of the new GIGM.com logo and the K.O Iheme Jibowu terminal is about re-positioning the company to have a worldwide appeal. He noted that because of the advent of smart technology, the world has become a global village, and the GIGM.com brand is leveraging on that by investing heavily in technology to make its operations easier, and less stressful for travellers. Ajaere who describes himself as a believer in the Nigerian project, noted that transportation business in Nigeria is a bit tough, but also interesting, adding, that there are several challenges in the business in the country including security, multiple unions and taxes.

Ajaere said the new logo: GIGM.com is in keeping with the company’s promise and mission to deliver innovative travel solutions, always. According to him, when he took over the reins of the company around 2009, his immediate strategy to move GIGM.com forward was to change the perception of Nigerians as regards the image of transporters, who were seen mostly as a bunch of touts. He said he was able to wipe away such image and reposition the company by rebranding it, and changing the perception of staff of themselves and how they want the travelling public to see them.
“In the about six years I have been in charge of the company, I have been able to get stakeholders to buy into the vision of GIGM.com as a forward thinking company,” he added. Ajaere said that GIGM.com lays a lot of emphasis on safety, which is why it spends time and resources on orienting, training and re-training drivers, and other staff associated with its buses, earning GIGM.com one of the cleanest safety records in the sector.
On competition, he said the company welcomes competition but ensures it stays ahead of the pack through competitive monopoly, using technology to set the pace. According to him, feedback from the public has shown that Nigerians appreciate good things and have continued to praise the company for doing things differently from the norm. Present at the event were president, GIGM.com, Mrs. Stella Ajaere, member of the board, Uche Ajaere, Pastor Godman Akinlabi of The Elevation Church and Mr. Kennedy Iheme who the Jibowu edifice is named after.

  14. Quite impressive. When an industry becomes stiffly competitive, only the trailblazers remain ahead.
