Dokpesi in another alleged N8billion Football Fraud

At the bail application hearing of embattled Daar Communications Chairman Raymond Dokpesi, at the Federal High Court Abuja yesterday December 10th, counsel to the Federal Government, Rotimi Jacobs objected to his bail application, stating that EFCC operatives was investigating a fresh case of N8.4 billion fraud Dokpesi illegally collected for the airing the FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria in 2012.

Jacobs in his submission, said that although Dokpesi claimed that FIFA granted his company the airing rights, the federal government was not a party to the contract.
“Here is a man, who in 2012, collected over N8 billion for the contract for airing of the Under-17 World Cup organised by FIFA. Nigeria was not part of the contract agreement with FIFA, yet, this applicant collected the huge sum from the treasury of this country. Again, let me say here that Nigeria is bleeding and it is the duty of everybody, including judges in court, to ensure that we fight and put an end to corrupt tendencies in this country.”he said
Dokpesi is facing prosecution by EFCC for allegedly receiving the sum of N2.billion from the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, for PDP’s presidential media campaign.

    5. Nigeria is a funny country so because of the hate campaign ait aired against buhari that is why the federal government is doing this, they should remember that it will be pdp turn one day and they will all go to jail too one by one. What ameachi ate is way morethan dopesi's own how come amaechi is a minister while dopesi is in jail. So so funny. Very swoon we will hear that he join abiola to loot itt money. Was dopesi ever a government official? Nigeria think this is not fair at all buhari is just revvenging because of the haste campaign period.

  17. This is all about the role he played during Jonathans campaign. It's ok to probe and recover as much as possible but Amaechi and Fashola must be probed also for funding PMB's campaign with Rivers and Lagos funds respectively. Posterity will judge PMB and his team if they do selective judgment while compensating Amaechi and Fashola for similar offence. If you live in a glass house, please don't throw stone....

    1. God bless you for speaking the obvious truth. You can't be cleaning the streets while your house is filthy. This is simply because after cleaning the streets those in your house will step out and litter it again. It's not only charity that begins at home!
It is splendid that we want to eradicate corruption but eradication means none is exempt from the process. PMB is against corruption but please make una tell me, which kind money them use for campaign???? Those governors that sponsored his campaign, did the money come from their personal bank account or looted funds also?! Just asking o! Ndi ala!

  25. AIT Bought the hosting rights to Air the matches from FIFA, and so anybody that wanted to Air said matches in NIgeria, had to buy the rights from AIT, which he could sell at any rate they so preferred!

NTA wanted to air the matches, so the Federal Government, which owns NTA, decided to buy the rights for N8 billion! What is his crime in that??? Being a shrewd business man??? Buhari is disgusting!

People here should stop commenting without the facts, just google 'FIFA Names AIT Host Broadcaster' and you will see they had the right to sell at any rate they like!

Why do you think Supersports always struggles to get the rights to AIR the english premiership in Africa? because if any station wants to air the premiership in Africa, they must pay them BIG MONEY!!!

  33. @anonymous: I don’t know the way some people reason, If Dopkesi has ever helped
You or your family in any way the only good you can do this country is to keep mute rather than utter senseless statement to rubbish the govt. Why not think that Dokpesi was airing the hate campaign because of the huge some he allegedly collected from the NSA rather than the other way round. I was equally shocked when I saw some jobless fellows whose present pathetic condition was caused by Dokpesi and his cohorts carrying placards saying APC should leave Dokpesi alone. I really blame the press for that, I wonder why none of the correspondents at the court yesterday couldn’t approach the protesters and grant a couple of them interview to know how much they were paid to carry the placard or to even verify if they can read the inscriptions on the placards. The question here should be whether or not he is guilty as accused.
