Ohanaeze dissociates itself from Nnamdi Kanu, Biafra

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the on Friday disowned the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and his cohorts in their struggle for the state of Biafra.
The Chairman, Forum of State Presidents of Ohanaeze in the seven Igbo –speaking states, in Awka, Dr. Chris Eluomunoh, said no right thinking person would support what he called the madness of the group .

He said:
“You will notice that Ohanaeze has been very silent on the issue of Biafra insurgency, though the youth wing of Ohanaeze has been speaking on it. Ohanaeze, as the Igbo cultural group, cannot support Biafra and we dissociate ourselves from it totally.
“Igbo people have contributed much to the development of Nigeria and we cannot allow some people to jeopardise the lives and efforts of millions of Igbo residing in all parts of Nigeria.
“We believe that anybody who has any issue to settle with the Federal Government should use dialogue and that is why we participated in the last National Conference. No sane Igbo person would want to witness a repeat of the kind of thing that happened during the Civil War.
“(Chief Odumegwu) Ojukwu, who led the Biafra war, returned to Nigeria from exile and contested elections in Nigeria, which showed that he was fully integrated into Nigeria and was a full-fledged Nigerian before he died.”
Eluemunor said that most of the agitation for a Biafran state came mainly from those living abroad.

He called on Pres. Buhari to declare a state of emergency on the infrastructure problem in the South East by rehabilitating the federal roads that have become death traps due to neglect.
He said doing so would help to correct the imbalances and marginalization being suffered by the Igbos.
He said:
“We know the marginalisation was not caused by him, but we plead that he should look into the problems being complained about by the people of South East and South–South. He has won the election and we in Ohanaeze support him and will work with him for the unity of the country.”

    1. Nice one. I wasn't born during the civil war but av heard and read stories, mehn, it wasn't a plesant experience so I wonder why these people who were worst hit by the war are still agitating. What for? Visit places ravaged by Boko haram terrorists and have a glimpse of what these ppl r passing through. Visit IDP camps, my God. War will be worse than that, yet they r not thinking of the consequences.. Meanwhile when it starts the innocent will suffer it most. They shld better advise themselves and borrow sense.

The little we know of them is that they're bunch of old men with myopic thoughts towards the Igbo youths. They are the same people that have been used against us, collecting bribes to to work against the welfare of the Igbos. who they help.

But, Fuck this push for biafra too, it's the machinations of a highly ambitious man or men who don't care how many young igbo lives are lost in this struggle. Let's focus on being the industrious, hardworking people we've always been and give peace in this world a chance. Jah knows too much blood been already let. #udo

    2. @Omotola. The true Biafran blood can never insult themselves. Those speaking against Biafra are not true Biafra. Their blood has been corrupted with money and they need to be cleansed before they're accepted. For every child, there's always a bad blood. So we the true biafran are not shaken, dismayed, smitten or afraid. Biafra is going home soon ☀️☀️☝️

That's not the point, even people who wants to start a family quarell..the thing is..this is a wrong time to clamour for biafra...and the wrong approach too.. so calm down igbo youths...a time will come when the Nigerian youths as a whole will be fed up...and when that time comes the FG will know that the young person too can register his opinion...

  9. The neglect of the SE in this present democracy was caused by Obasanjo and Jonathan yet these Biafrans accuse the Hausas and Fulanis for the neglect. Its very vivid that they are angry dat Buhari won the elections. That's most political. Ask any biafran agitator their plans for Biafra and he will hv noting to say. All they brag abt is "the zoo must fall". They prefer to destroy Nigeria than allow a Hausa man rule them. They rain insults and threats on Nigerians and a president who has bin in ofix in abt 6myths like little girls. But then, like I always ask, if they are truly united, why do they hv various factions; MASSOB, IPOB, OHANEZE, etc, etc?

Why is it that people fail to address the real issues? The real issues are not just roads. The main issue is why are your children given the higher cut off marks for them to be able to get education whereas some other children have lower scores.
I thought the saying was that all men are born equal? So why are Nigerian children not born equal? Why is NIGERIA punishing your kids for being intelligent and extolling or encouraging dumbness?
Why are your children not enjoying amnesty since there is oil in their abode? Why were they excluded when they are part of NDDC?
The issue is far from roads please, you cheapen the issues by tying them to roads simpliciter!
Is it the fault of your people if they decided to bear just two kids while some others bear 10-20. Why should a man be punished for family planning against the background of harsh economic realities?
As usual, you disappointed once again! Your call for peace is a good one but your failure to mention these important issues is disappointing and gives you out as barking dogs. Remember they seldom bite
