British jet with 189 passengers on board dodged missile while approaching Sharm El Sheikh

A Thomson flight carrying 189 passengers had to dodge a rocket as it approached Sharm El Sheikh, it has been reported. The London Stansted flight was said to have come "within 1,000ft" of the deadly missile and only avoided it after the pilot took evasive action.

It eventually landed safely and the passengers on board were not told about the brush with certain death.
The incident came two months before a Russian airliner crashed after taking off from the Egyptian resort on Saturday killing all 224 on board.

It is thought a bomb planted by terror group Islamic State is the most likely cause of the tragedy prompting the UK to suspend all commercial flights to and from the resort on Wednesday.
The Department for Transport has confirmed the incident involving the British jet which happened on August 23.
A source said: "The first officer was in charge at the time but the pilot was in the cockpit and saw the rocket coming towards the plane.
"He ordered that the flight turn to the left to avoid the rocket, which was about 1,000ft away," reports Mail Online.
It is thought the five members of cabin crew only found out about the incident after landing and were offered the chance to stay the night in Egypt.

However they are said to have chosen to head straight back to the UK.
The source added that the missile that nearly struck the Thomson jet was also spotted by another of the carrier’s planes as it approached Sharm El Sheikh.

It is reported they were told the rocket was from an Egyptian military exercise but now think otherwise following Saturday's incident.

  12. Just a few days ago i was reading how shoulder fired surface-to-air missile (SAM) or ground-to-air missile (GTAM) have become a core threat to civil aviation mostly due to the technological improvements that Man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS or MPADS) have seen and the fact that the world powers have recently generated and sponsored a lot of conflict throughout the would hence they have made it very easy for such weapons to be in the hands of anyone who really wants to have them. At the end of the article i was reading there was a video that was advertising a particular companies product claiming to be able to safe guard civil aviation from such surface-to-air threats buying using the same technology that modern fighter and bomber jets use to detect and maybe counter such threats. I belif say dis oyinbo men don dey use dis kind of their witchcraft they protect themselve o. But as usual them still dey stingy with am until them don get another better one before them go start to they sale am to us.

  21. This story is too simple and convenient. Masquerade cry for night, pikin die for morning. Something deeper is going on be Egypt, Russia and the west and we are not any wiser. Egypt syas no bomb trace detected. The west says it was a bomb. Suspiciously, no evidence. All of a sudden, we have the west saying they dodged a missile recently. And they still kept on flying over that air space? I would have expected an abrupt maneuver, yet no one in the plane noticed any sharp turns. Common. They are trying to justify something. This is how the WMD story started. Now we know say na lie. The more we look, the less we see. something is definitely going on but it is far from what we see.

Foreign diplomacy is a serious game. We are being played I suspect.
