Actor IK Ogbonna's wife and son robbed in Lagos traffic

IK Ogbonna's wife Sonia was robbed in the Mile 2 traffic earlier today. The robbers were so heartless they smashed the windows of her car with her baby in the car. Sad! Read what IK wrote about the incident after the cut...

    2. All Lagos state wanna do is oyibo-wanna -be by mouth and harassing people with tax this tax that. They have been reparing tap water for more than a month now with no success. Lagos streets have no road; light has become a thing the gods only can fix. Each day, the folks they harass with tax are robbed on the road repeatedly, at the same spots with nothing done about it. Empty heads!

  25. word of advice since lasg isnt ready to protect us:

    1. Get yourself a 'palasa' phone to be quickly handed over in case of "eventualities' while having the real one out of sight whenever youre in 'hold up' around black spots like maryland, oshodi, mile 2, mile 12, mushin, all bridges leading into the island, etc

    2. Get yourself a palasa handbag as well ..keep real under seat and palasa 'slightly, out of sight. make sure palasa is stuffed with unimportant items you can do away with

    3. You can do yourself some good by arranging to pick up a neighbor or colleague and drive to and fro work with them. Alternatively you can randomly offer someone a lift to and fro work

    4. When driving at night, dim your dashboard light to make harder to figure out if youre alone or not additionally remove watches, necklaces, anything that glitters

    5. Buy a can of pepper spray in case the attacker is alone and looks like an armature. Make sure to avoid the spray getting into your own eyes by placing it in the right position for easy deployment.

    6. Buy a stun gun. Make sure to have it exactly where your phone 'should be' so the attacker wont see it coming. Apply same to pepper spray

    7. Find a law enforcement agent that can help you with with a banner to hang in your car and sticker too ..mopol, army and navy are best, forget (black and black police)

    8. Buy yourself a pistol! Apply for a license or go for a short law enforcement course and gain license to carry arms. Thats if the thing do vex you die!

    9. Tint your glasses ..na just 15k + small small settlement to police when youre in a good mood

    10. Pack your bag and relocate to your village

  26. Seriously speaking, the rate at which these traffic hooligans are operating is appalling. How can d so called police, mobile police, anti robbery squad, highway patrol, lastma, vio etc doing on these roads exactly? This issue has been going on for months now and nobody is batting an eyelid.

Dear lagos state governor, if this is ur plan to make lagos a better place, u are failing drastically. I guess it's until someone in ur family gets robbed or stabbed in traffic dats wen u will leave ur house abi? As u don't care about d lives of d pple dat voted for u. Nigeria/lagos is just a sad state.

  30. Ik, welcome to the real Nigeria. The "have not" boots are large in number. Bros, they have been increasing in size the past 30 years while their quality of life has dwindled at a geometric rate. Now they are looking starvation of a different kind in the face. The type that makes you brazen and bold especially in a country where wealth flaunting is embraced as a meaningful social norm. They watch the political elite grow their purse sizes and acquisitions on twitter and Instagram while their fate sinks from one low today to a new low tomorrow. Then one day they realize they are more in number. They sit down and do a very crude math that tells them they tried everything but the haves just won't share. They start nurturing anger fueled by the daily stories of trillions stolen and jet rides. Then they look at their inability to eat Bolle for their daily meal and they make a decision to go and Rob for today. They justify it as taking back what was theirs that has been stolen. That first day they are pumped with adrenalin. What if the person being robbed shoots or the police intervene. They are cajoled by their peers who tell them they are not the first in the trade and remind them that they are taking what is rightfully theirs. They also remind them that big man no Wan die. The first car is an adrenalin shock. The second car less so. The third brings a taste of the fear you live into the mouth of those you view add the oppressor. The fourth is fueled by the thrill of the rich at your mercy. What a truly powerless bunch you think to yourself. Then comes hate. They have all of this and no liver. If it were muscle to muscle you would win hands down. But because they have some godfather in heaven they take freely without opposition despite their weaknesses. You get more violent. Vengeance is written into every action. The goal, bring these weak ones who have touched you to their knees. You could tap on the car window with your gun but to hell with that. Just break the damned glass and hear that scream of fright. Look how they cower. They can't even fight back. The power is like blood on the tongue of a hound. You become one with the taste and you quest for more. The acts become more brazen.
Ik, that is what is happening. Government can never hire enough police for this nsobu.

Why is it that the govt cant beef up sercurity in the areas that these complajnts come from. That mile2 traffic and robbery has been there for so many years now with anything being done.At this time now that the govt and economy is on stand still, robbery is now on the increase, people are becoming desperate, even the good ones are forced into robbery to survive. We dont get the all the robbery going on these day, peoople are being robbed and shot, cars are vandalised, banks are robbed on a daily basis.Ambode needs to do something. They eventually make a withdrawal of 130k.

Boko Haram is still raging today because some people believe a particular religion is behind them even when both churches and mosques, christians and muslims are being killed on a daily basis! Untill we stop blames trading and collectively (irrespective of our religious, ethnic and/or political affliations) stand against the evils in our society, we are not ready to win the war!
