Tribunal sacks Wike as Rivers governor, orders rerun

The Rivers state election petition tribunal sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state today nullified Governor Nyesom Wike's election. The tribunal led by Justice Ambusa said the April 11 2015 election which brought Wike to power was marred by election fraud and violence. He ordered for a rerun election. The petition challenging Wike's election was filed by APC candidate, Dukuku Peterside

    1. It's a welcome development. Hooliganism doesn't pay. We all saw how it plays it during the election. So his sympathizers should go n pick up their PVC to vote in him in a patriotic way expected of a Nigerian citizen

    2. Nice one. Say #change# APC #change# Vote Dakuku Peterside for Governor in Rivers State 2015.

    3. Tribunal acting d script of those in power...

Am no supporter of either APC or PDP, I see Wike winning and claiming his victory@d Appeal or Supreme court's.

Dis is script writing by those in power influencing d 3rd arm of govt which wil amounts to nothing by d end of d day.

Wht a shame dat we r experiencing dis and I believe d road to appeal court and supreme court wil surely b d rescue out of dis.

I pray justice wil prevail by d end of d day and enemies of progress in our democracy wil b put to shame.

      Long Live Nigeria!

  13. If APC like let them do the re-run 100 times, PDP will still win unless APC put guns on people's head on that day and force them to vote. Nonsense judgement. What can we then say about d election in d north where underage children where allowed to vote. I weep for Naija.

  24. We are now seeing the dividend o f democracy. It is remaining delta state that we are waiting for the cancellation of thegubernatorial election. Nigerians can't tolerate any further, people getting into office by fraud. Let free, fair and violent free elections be held to elect credible winners. As for wike, all those that were killed and have any form of connection with wike, justice must be served. He must face justice and not be allowed to leave the country. The blood of those killed during the election are crying for justice. Anybody culpable in their deaths must not go scot-free

  30. Hahaha....hohoho... i no fit laff sef. I am not pro-amaechi. Neither am I anti-wike but the way Wike was acting was disgusting! Always looking for a wau to put down Amaechi. He never put out evidence. And this was his former boss! Also, Wike was fraudulent as minister of Education. Forcing universities to pay huge sums for his personal gratification, woth no difference in the sector. Pure BS!
Amaechi started out extremely well but dropped the ball after a while and that stagnated Rivers State.
Now the chicken has come home to roost! Lol.
