  50. #TrekkingForIDPs
#TrekkingFromAccraToLagos To Raise Funds For IDPs

I am Hussaini Kwaifa, a staff of the Peoples Media Limited, publishers of Peoples Daily Newspaper.

Following the heavy onslaught of the Boko Haram insurgents in the North eastern part of my country, Nigeria and the massive displacement of people, including women and children otherwise called Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

I have decided to help alleviate the suffering of the IDPs whom have been rendered homeless and hopeless by embarking on a trek from Accra in Ghana to Lagos in Nigeria to raise funds for the IDPs. Part of my mission is to create awareness on the plight of the IDPs. With this campaign (#TrekkingForIDPs), I hope to mobilize concerned individuals, organisation and institutions to come their aid.

For now this is the best idea and method I have come up with to raise funds to assist thousand of IDPs currently in my country, and to motivate the the general public to contribute financially or otherwise through these three (3) charity organization that support IDPSs namely ICICECENTER.ORG, Daily Trust (IDP) Relief Fund and ACECHARITYAFRICA.ORG. No fund or surpport for the IDPs should be channeled to me as an individual as my mission is selfless.

#InShaAllah I will begin my #TrekkingFromAccraToLagos on Saturday 10th of October, 2015 at 7am by Tema, Accra aroundabout Accra, Ghana.

I have always felt bad for the IDPs and I believe that together we can make their life better and also stop them from joining terrorist gangs, drug trafficking and prostitution.

Please, I urge the good citizens of Nigeria, Ghana other W/African countries and international community to contribute to the IDPs upkeep.

Finally I need your prayers for my safety while I trek back to my lovely country, Nigeria. Thank you.

  53. We should support our own. The motive is for the good, even if he is jobless,at least he's putting his energy in the right place and not joining Boko Haram. If he was white he would have gotten sponsors and huge support. It's a step in a positive direction, please see d good and let's not be myopic. What have we done for the IDPS ?it could be you and l.

  54. Dear Myopic Ones
I have a lot of questions for u and l hope l get answers and not make a joke out of it. Please when will we learn to support our own, when will we start seeing the good and ripple effects of the common man and not be quick to condem. Even if Hussani Kwaifa is jobless at least he is using his energy positively and not joining Boko Haram, do we know how many young confused minds he can sway away from Boko Haram. Who said U and I cannot be IDPS tomorrow, pls wear the shoes for a sec. What have we contributed to the plight of d dps not just internal. If he was white,he would hv received massive support and huge sponsors by now. Here we are sucking Hussani's energy rather than boosting his morale. All d best Hussani Kwaifa,l promise to contribute my little.Fair winds.

    1. Thank you for your encouragement and may God bless you and your family.
Some Nigerians can't see the good side of me. If half of Nigerians can donate N500 or N1,000 to any of these accounts it will make a big difference in their life. I am only creating awareness for the Internally Displaced Persons IDPs. I have visited them in their camps and I know how they are suffering.
