One stabbed as armed robbers rob motorists in Lagos traffic

One man was stabbed during an armed robbery incident along the Costain-Eko bridge yesterday night. Motorists who were in traffic as they returned from work were robbed of their valuables by robbers who were armed with pistols, hammers, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons.

The robbers smashed the glasses of motorists and demanded for their phones, bags and other valuables. In some cases, the motorists were the ones who had to wind down their car windows and hand over their belongings so that there cars will not destroyed.
Also at Oshodi yesterday night, a lady was robbed of her belongings by some hoodlums. The spate of armed robbers attacking motorist in Lagos has increased in recent times. Please the government needs to work on the security of our lives and property.

    1. This shows how clueless the APC led administration his, if GEJ was still the president, the would have blamed him for every single thing. But now that the old wicked man Buhari is the president, no one is saying anything, people are dumb.

    2. Can you see how senseless & naive you are? We are talking about security in Lagos state, you are talking about JEG & PMB.
Was it JEG that put policemen on the bridges when Fashola was the governor of Lagos state? Is it PMB that will come & put policemen & Eko bridge?
Use your brain before you talk.

  37. I saw the same group of youth who rob at Marina CMS axis surprisingly at the Eko bridge traffic this morning looking for who to rob. These boys have been robbing consistently that we now know their faces, yet, no law enforcement agency is serious about silencing them for good. This is indeed a big shame

  46. My name is Ifeanyi Uba and I am not afraid. I have endured 10 years of oppression on the streets of Lagos at the hands of hoodlums and armed robbers. I have been robbed in once chance, at an ATM in VI, waylaid along broad street, have had my car broken into in Ikeja, had my window smashed in traffic on western avenue, have witnessed numerous traffic robberies on Mile 2, Orile, Oshodi and Costain roads...and quite frankly I am fed up. I work hard to earn a small wage, and refuse to believe that a tout on the streets, holding a knife or a piece of iron is hungrier...or angrier, than me. I have made up my mind; from now on I will leave my house prepared. The next time I see a robbery in traffic I won't duck down and hide my phones, because I know that I might be next. I will reach into my back seat, and I will step out. I will accost you hoodlum, you tout, you thug, and if you do not run...I pity you. if you break my window in traffic, I will break the hand that broke the window. I will teach you that there are demons among men, dressed in suits and driving in comfortable cars. I will teach you that before you eat you must work. I will teach you that soldiers of Christ are stationed among you, to curb your excesses. Nigeria is NOT a lawless nation, and I am NOT a lawless person. I am not doing this because I value my phone or my tablet more than my life, I am doing this because when people see what I can do, they will stand up and stop waiting for Ambode to save them. I am doing this because the same sun shines on you and me, and my choice to be disciplined, studious and responsible should not make me a victim to your greed and poor choices. For the rest of you, all I need from you is to stay out of my way, and call me a doctor if you see me bloodied up, because that won't stop me. I'm done being a victim.

My name is Ifeanyi Uba...and I am not afraid.

  49. Not until Nigeria gov decides to have a substantial plan for the youths, things will certainly get worse in this country; this is just the alpha: the beta stage is coming.
Is a painful reality that Nigerian Leaders don't have a single plan for its youths, and they are busy focusing their attention on those who are already made in life.
There are so many avenues that can be used to improve on the lives of nigerian youths; eg if the gov decides to increase the allowance of the compulsory NYSC program to about N150,000 a month, that is about 1.8million a year.let say your expenses for the period of one year is N500,000as a youth corper then you still have 1.3million left to start a life for yourself. This will drastically reduce unemployment in the population and hence crime will reduce to some extent.

  58. This same gang attacked me at the same spot at 6am the previous day. I simply abandoned my car and ran for my life. That did not stop them from smashing my passenger window and scattering my belongings all over the bridge... I'm usually a very tough guy, resourceful and dynamic; but I now feel completely helpless and violated. Anyway, I Thank God for Life.

  59. The rate at which these robberies take place in Lagos traffic is alarming. Our sitting governor obviously has no knowledge about being on top the game when it comes governance especially in a state like Lagos that is densely populated with all and sundry.Since Governor Fashola left office ,Lagos has gone back from fair to worse ,good to bad and it seems to be getting more unbearable.
Governor Ambode, please ,kindly help Lagosians put the roads in a proper condition so as to avoid unwarranted traffic.Let all the street lights be in a good working condition and lastly ,the POLICE and LASTMA should discharge their respective duties more diligently.SECURITY of lives and properties should be taken seriously by our governor.Thank you!
