    1. I wouldnt call dis traditional wedding/engagement simple. Saw clearer pictures on bellanaija, it was beautifully expensivey decorated wt pillars of flowers. For engagement o, not white wedding reception. Her lace is VERY VERY EXPENSIVE. Anyways they look very much in love. And shes not pregnant like some pple here said. Happy married life to them.

  13. I like the effort but they made rubbish... a basket of fruits placed on a briefcase??? How do u relate to that? Or can u decode the meaning?

    ReplyDelete
  14. She tried, not feeling the concept sha..there shouldn't have being a briefcase under the basket.

  15. The wedding cake illustrates tradition, it might not be d best, at least, it is an effort....and meanwhile, it's not a wedding but a traditional one..

  16. @ He-sir T. C Blog...i believe you are not a yoruba person. I cannot tell of other cultures but baskets of fruits and briefcase/ travelling box with cloth materials in it are engagement gifts brought to the bride and her family. This cake is a symbol of the culture.

  21. @ annonymous, na u sabi, or u be one of them? The race is not to the fastest guy.many were called but few are chosen. Tinuke is the chosen one.lol. I believe the cake must have been made to the specs of the couple. The concept is quite understandable as it is a yoruba traditional wedding cake. M sure d over sabis would have expected a mountain for a cake or something totally meaningless. I love their simplicity. Welldone @ cakesby apinke . Thanks linda for always celebrating creativity.and dissy them sometimes. *wink .

  22. I might agree with you what the fruit basket means but it still doesn't make sense with the brief case. They can do better than that. + the brief case is not our culture.

  23. Fine dude. Congratulations to them.

  26. To the silly comments about the cake, I don't think you have an idea about what goes into the making. I'm still amazed at the outcome. Kuddos to the artist that made it.

    1. It wasnt simple. Go to bellanaija for pictures. Or wait for d official pictures after d white wedding, which is today. It probably wont run till next week.

  34. Are u locking up ur fortune. Pple shld be mindful of what they do these days in the name of fashion.

  35. @he-sir, in YORUBA TRADITIONAL WEDDING CULTURE, d grooms family brings a briefcase (or many cases) of clothes and jewellry, basket of fruits, yam, honey etc. as gifts for d bride to ask for d brides hand in marriage. Maybe in d old days they brought d clothes by hand, but since d days of our great grandmothers they were putting d clothes inside portmanteau (those old metal cases dt look like chest).
