Tanzanian Mountain Guide Seeks to Break World Record of the Fastest Climb of Mount Kilimanjaro

If anyone has ever told you that you could not attain great peaks in your life, tell them about Julio Ludago. Julio is the Tanzanian Mountain Guide who believes he can break the current World Record of the fastest climb of Mount Kilimanjaro less than 6 hours 56 minutes and 24 seconds.

Julio’s great climb is on Sunday, September 27 and technology giant, Intel will be supporting Julio’s climb with the Intel Basis Peak, a wearable smart watch that automatically monitors, measures and displays the heart rate without need for a chest strap; and the Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi powered by Intel Core M processor, a very light and thin tablet that has been helping Julio prepare for his climb by tracking weather conditions and recording his journey through photos and videos.

You can participate in Julio’s adventure by sending him a message of support and predicting how long his climb will take. What is more? If you do this, you stand a chance of winning prizes from Intel and Asus.

Here are the RULES: Comment on the Intel Nigeria Facebook page OR @IntelWestAfrica Twitter handle between the Monday, September 21 to the Sunday, September 27 with a message of support for Julio and your prediction on how long you think it will take him to go up and down the mountain (e.g. 5 hours, 40 minutes and 03 seconds).

All entries for the competition MUST contain the hashtag #TheClimbAfrica to qualify.

At the end of the climb, Julio’s final time will be revealed. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 and the two people with the closest time guesses will win.

First prize is an Intel-powered Asus Transformer Book T100, while the Second prize is an Intel-powered Asus Fonepad.

Our prediction is 5 hours 23 minutes and 41 seconds. What’s yours??
