See the kind of art this black artist made. Black women are finding it disrespectful

A popular black artist known professional as Duro Arts, released his new work last week and has come under fire from the black community, especially women. He painted controversial images of black women that some say is disrespectful.

In one photo, he painted a naked black woman, with her eyes censored and she's giving oral relations to eggplants with Mercedes symbols on them and in another one, he paints a photo of a nude black woman eating 'social media feed' out of a dog bowl, while a man squats over her. See the photos after the cut and tell us if you think they're inappropriate.

What messages do you think he's trying to pass with this images?

    1. The message he is trying to pass on is that black gals would do anything to have the flashy life, but he forgot that white gals too do it, Eg the Kardashians.

At least amber and black don't have sex tapes and haven't dated almost all the guys in hollywood. Go and check kim's record, Taylor Swift and co.

  5. Whatever message he was trying to pass lost its essense the moment he disrespected women.

I don't need to bash him. Women are mouthed.

  6. He's a self-loathing ignoramus. He fails to realise he is speaking to his mother and sisters too. He thinks he is addressing a percentage of black women but his small mind does not tell him his brushes indicates this is the symbol of black womanhood.

Maybe he took too much weed before he started. This bastard - yes, I mean he is a bastard - is either chronically gay (they hate women), or so self-hating he married a white woman to 'rid' his generation coming of melanin. Can someone tell him the butterfly can wish to be but never quite can be a bird? Amen.

    1. He is black that's the reason he choose to paint a portrait of his own race. He'd have been tag a racist if the women in the painting are white. So black women shouldn't take it personal he is only sending a message which cut across every race.

It may look offensive but black women simply have to deal with the truth.

  56. There is indeed some modicum of truth in it. The only fault with this depiction is the blatant ambiguity of the subject matter itself. Is this representative of EVERY black woman... including his Wife and yes, his very own MOTHER? She's a black woman too, ain't she? Even if it is allowed a degree of ambiguity and subject to interpretation of the artist and beholder, Art should be responsible. Well if this be the case, then my interpretation of this therefore is thus ... THIS IS WHAT HE THINKS OF EVERY BLACK WOMAN INCLUDING HIS WIFE, SISTERS AND MOTHER!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why is the truth always bitter? I think that's the question you should ponder on. The portrait as nothing to do with race but rather the time we live in. Most women who want fame and affluence will result to anything irrespective of the colour. The images her just reflections of who he is, which is black. So the painting does not imply that every black woman will get down on their knee for material things but rather most ladies of our generation will result to anything for wealth and cheap fame.

  58. There is indeed some modicum of truth in this. The only problem with this depiction is the ambiguity of its subject matter. Is this representative of EVERY Black woman? Artis allowed to be ambiguous and subject to the interpretation of the Artist/Beholder. Now if this is the case, My interpretation as Beholder of this 'fine' piece of work is that...This is the Artist's unrefined view of ALL Black Women including HIS WIFE, SISTERS and lest I forget, HIS MOTHER. Lesson here? Art has a moral obligation to be responsible.

  59. The picture depicts more than just materialism, it shows women who stoop so low are better dogs than the men.

I like this art work, though disrespectful to just black women but i love it. This art work is the truth, in every five women gathered together, four of them exhibit such characters in them. I know it's hateful but the truth is 'hateful' and many of us hate the truth, I know so many women will not accept this truth. They prefer to hit back on his mother, sisters, aunts, wife or wives, girlfriends and daughters, like they're not going to do this same things tomorrow and act like this paintings never happened or existed. I am Jagabam omo yabayaski too baski and i approve of this message. :-)

Why are we only concentrating on this piece of artwork he did, im pretty sure he has others that he praised black women in. Believe it or not, majority of the women complaining about the art work are doing so because they are GUILTY! Madammes swallow your guilt and don't knock his hustle

  82. Due to the influence of the social media men and women and been blinded by materialism. Some Nigerians have one interpretation when it comes to art. This painting is a representation of our current social situation, it is not pleasant. But art is not always meant to be beautiful. It seeks to offend provoke thought and dialogue.
