Photo: Female Afghan activist posts nude photo in protest against the public lashing of a woman accused of adultery

A female Afghan activist said to be a journalist posted her nude photo in protest against the public punishment of a young woman in western Ghor province of Afghanistan. The photo of the female activist was widely shared in social media websites with subscribers saying she took the bold step to denounce the trial and punishment of the young couple.

The couple, Ahmad, 21, and Zarmina, 22, were punished in public 20 days after they were arrested over adultery charges. They received 100 lashes each by the order of primary court in the presence of local officials, community elders and local residents.

They were arrested by security personnel from Feroz Koh city and were sent to jail with the head of the provincial primary court Atta Mohammad Farouqi saying that the couple was punished after they admitted their involvement in adultery. The photo was deleted after it was posted to prevent outrage among the people.

    1. Why posting a naked picture? That's another offence...she is familiar with the law of the land so why trying to change it? That is SHARIA LAW.

As a married woman, you committed an adultery with another man the punishment is 100 stroke of cane. Both the man and the woman.

The KIND OF PEOPLE YOU MUST NOT marry

  18. Phariseeeeeeeeeeees, Jesus Himself knew d wicked intent of deir heart and commanded him who is without sin to cast d first stone. I can't seems to fathom how some religious bagazuzu will subject God's creature to dat ill treatment not after He God d Almighty creator has given us freedom of choice. Selfish religion

  29. She should go to hell with her nudity, what is she using it to teach rubbish and stupid activist.
Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous country in the world, were humans are not made to be?so am not surprise to see all this trash happening there.
A country were terrorism is legal and women dignity is taking for granted,so what do you expect from there noting than this.

  31. Posting nude to protest over something. Seriously, I don't find the connection and that's not courage. Malala Yusafzai didn't pose nude to protest the Taliban's ban on education for women. She fought against it and won in the good way and today she is been celebrated as the first teenager to win a Nobel peace prize award.

Posing nude for protest does not speak well, ur picture only goes viral for the wrong reasons and not for the protest.

  32. People should not try to sanctify bad things like adultery all in the name of coming out nude. Those who committed the sin know virtually well that it is the law of the land that they are flogged, so y do people try to make people carrying out the punishment as sinners meanwhile the real sinner is left behind because we become emotional and have a sense of pity about wrong things.

Imagine people to come out nude in protest of people Buhari is trying for corruption charges. Common sense please.

    1. You are a muslim...I guess. So only the woman is good enough to be flogged? Not the man. And i bet the people doing the flogging have NEVER committed adultery? I dnt support what the female journalist did, but maybe that was her own desperate way of raising awareness about the situation which would not have been there in the first place if Islam had any regards at all for women. Pathetic religion.

  38. i wonder how some people think in this Forum. well am not surprise how you guys always attack islam. But i challenge you guys to read your bibles and tell me the punishment for Adultery according to your own Bibles. The crime was committed in Afghanistan and its against the law there.

  39. How come it's only the lady that's punished?! did she commit the act with herself? what about the man? anti-women religion! is there anything good about islam? thank God I'm not from any of these islamic countries. no wonder muslims find it difficult to forgive.
see those old wicked men enjoying the pains of the girl. 100! with that thing the man is holding, with the girl survive it?
and the man she "committed" it with is walking the streets free.SMH
Islam... the worst thing that has happened to humanity!
