"I think it would be useful for people to look at the full scope of the project and then make a determination about whether or not it did not represent value for money. For me, we ran an annual budget of over N400bn. I think that if he (Fashola) really wanted to steal money, it wouldn’t be N78m out of over N400bn that he had access to. Of course, every kobo of public funds must be accounted for and I hope in the future, we can get the full facts and it will be made available to the public. I don’t know of anybody succeeding at anything like that (stealing) because we had a system that we designed as much as possible to prevent such. Take for instance, in our capital expenditure, we had in-house experts, so, if it was a construction project, regardless of the agency of government undertaking the project, the experts in the ministry of works and infrastructure would do an independent assessment of the cost. We had quantity surveyors, engineers, architects that offered advice. If it was an IT related project, the team in the Ministry of Science and Technology would do an independent evaluation and so for you to steal; you would need to corrupt the whole process.””he said

ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have said it any better, we're a very emotional set of people who rarely try to dig deep when offered first information, always quick to head to the market with fallacy.

Fashola did well bt it's hard to dissociate stealing nd looting from Public service in this part of the world, so if fashola got better proofs let em clear his name once and for all.

Akabueze GERRARA HERE MEHN !!! We all know the truth...Love of money has made most of you lost your good sense of reasoning and will call black white and vice-versa...You are protecting your master so that if eventually he got an appointment, contract or Special aide portfolio will be given to you....We all knew Fashola tried but not up to 50% of IGR of Lagos+Allocation+Debt owed...Imagine Anambra State during gov Peter Obi with its small allocation and IGR were able to perform exceedingly and still left not less than N76 Billion cash and other valuables without owing any debt....WHO IS DECEIVING WHO ???

ReplyDeleteOyibo I beg make we hear word. Is it only 78million we are talking about or ikoyi bridge, judge house, selling of govt house that were built all over the place. And any other ones that have not been scanned out. Just carry your kaiya go east go chop the small one wey you see. Don't defend the indefensible.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of many many 78m Fashola looted.
ReplyDeleteLol tbh.
ReplyDeleteThis 78million nonsense is Tinubu trying to mess Fashola up
Call me silly but fashola worked. He REALLY worked.
So if he took 78 million or even more,is it morally wrong? Yes. But do I mind? Not really. He was a better governor than that gargoyle Tinubu.
I wonder if some people even go to school, can't you read between the lines " If Fashola want to steal it won't be 78 million naira" so for you layman here he is saying Fashola did not, this is one man of integrity and foresight, it is not good that we are repaying him this way. This is the man that had disagreement with his boss(Tinubu) because he takes his stand. I will always support Fashola until it is proven that he did it.
ReplyDeleteI SEE SENSE IN WHAT THIS MAN IS SAYING I KNOW I KNOW AND I KNOW THAT JAGABAN WANT TO RUBBISH FASHOLA WITH HIS STUD AMBODE THIS IS VERY CLEAR
