Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Yakubu Umar, has issued a fresh arrest warrant on Nigerian Senate President, Bukola Saraki, after he failed to show up at the tribunal this morning. Are they not aware that the Court of Appeal granted a stay of execution order on their arrest warrant?
This Saraki saga nawa o
ReplyDeleteI tire for the matter.
DeleteSaraki should lead by example and appear before them.
If this man is found guilty, so many people will follow ooo. And secrets would be revealed
DeleteAnd if they bring Saraki down.. The rest of them will go down as well including the mallam of a president..
DeleteThis Saraki saga nawa o
ReplyDeleteYou don't know more than na wa oo..lol
DeleteHmmmmmMmmmm dis now look like a child's play.....mstchhhheeeewwww
ReplyDeleteMcheeeeeeew, make dem dey go back and forth for there. Linda take note!
ReplyDeleteGbam! Saraki can not survive this there is no way he can survive it. Becos Saraki is too corrupt.
ReplyDelete"And the drama continues"
ReplyDeleteHow can the senate president ever summon someone to the senate and expect that person to appear before him, if he himself as the chief lawmaker of the country is defying the law?
DeleteWhoever this man has offended is coming after him with everything they've got
ReplyDeleteNaijaaccountwiz blog
Now this is becoming a child's play .The Judiciary should stop disgracing us like this. And by the way,why is Saraki this scared to answer common questions?Since he claims he isn't guilty. This drama is so uncalled for
ReplyDelete@ Linda, y appealing just an appearance? will he be killed if he appears? and ur question reveals thus: u are tacitly not in tune with present reality: the war against corruption is REAL and must work
ReplyDeleteExactly it seems linda has no morals anywhere there is money that is where she will pitch her tent and support
DeleteYes. You guys are on point. That is why we should always read in between the line, as far as the information media is concerned
DeleteWhat happened to d first warrant? The police said they didn't get it.
ReplyDeleteThe court of appeal is on the same hierarchical level as the code of conduct tribunal and as such they are not obliged to follow that order. It's only an higher court that can give a stay of execution order to the cct
ReplyDeletelinda shey you use your eye see the stay of action from court of appeal, apply some journalistic skills to your work oh even do you are not trained in that line...
ReplyDeleteNa today?????..
ReplyDeleteCorruption is fighting back big time
ReplyDeletethat man is scared of something, wonder what it is
ReplyDelete#iT will only get better
#iT must end in praise

***CURRENTLY IN JUPITER***
Please, who is fooling who in this country now? #Mamie.
ReplyDeleteThis code of conduct tribunal is just making a fool of itself. How many times are you going to send arrest warrant? If you want to arrest the Senate President, do it without much drama. But the question on everyone's mind is why has it taken so long for them to issue this warrant. Assets that were declared more than ten years ago, it is now they are finding discrepancy?
ReplyDeleteGo and ask bill Cosby that question. The sex scandal he is facing now happened in 1982. We know how all these agencies were working during Jonathan regime.
DeleteApc are bunch of confused set of human beings
ReplyDeleteOk na!question for the gods.Saraki should pls go n clear his name and stop embarrassing Nigerians/Nigeria
ReplyDelete@ Linda: With utmost respect and humility, I am a super fan of your Blog but will not hesitate to correct your view when the situation arises. Kindly confirm before concluding. When did the Justices of the Court of Appeal Sit let alone grant his application for Stay between Friday (when the CCT issued the Bench Warrant ) and Monday (when two matters are coming up before before two Courts viz. CCT and FHC)? He has only filed an Appeal and his application for Stay stands as only filed until moved and granted by the Court of Appeal. However, he ought to file his application for Stay at the CCT first before going to the COA. It is only when the CCT refuses his application for Stay that he can then proceed to the COA appealing the refusal of grant of Stay and urge the COA to grant it. Its what we call procedural law. The COA itself is overburdened with several Appeals which are still pending before it which they are yet to even issue Hearing Notice not to talk of rushing to sit over an Appeal filed on Friday and Order Stay immediately (how I wish our judicial system works that way though). In addition, filing a Notice of Appeal does not operate as a Stay of proceedings or execution.
ReplyDeleteI beg to disagree. In my humble opinion, as long as you have applied to COA and can prove you have applied via the court clerk, then a stay of execution will stand.
DeleteOde. It doesn't work that way Mr man. The rules of court are quite clear. A stay of proceeding or execution is not automatic. It has to be applied for
DeleteI equally agree with you my broda, there is no way the case will go to court of appeal without a hearing in the CCT, saraki should stop playing games with the judiciary. The time of turning point for Nigeria as a nation is here, the Era of impunity is over. I dey laugh, I no fit shout...
Deletewww.Konfam9ja.blogspot.com Dey give free credit efriday check now!
ReplyDeleteBunch of confused lot
ReplyDeleteIf Arase if afraid to arrest Saraki, then the IGP should be fired. It is an indication that he doesn't understand the law he swore to enforce or he his complicit-meaning Saraki has bribed him.
DeleteThey're probably wasting their time.....
ReplyDeleteStay of execution order indeed... Mr Senate president would hv saved himself all these embarrassments had he appeared on the first day of hearing.
ReplyDeleteAnother issued, they should go and arrest him.
ReplyDelete#sad indeed
Another issued, they should go and arrest him.

Naija football politics. The big players don't get injured. And the super coaches, always win. Ask PDP. Engr Emy
ReplyDeleteAPC is crazy! Talking about impunity. Serves bukola right though.
ReplyDeleteNaija, which way forward?
ReplyDeleteDrama.
ReplyDeleteYour comment will be visible after approval.
They should go and pick him up already. No one is, or should be above the law. Saraki should defend himself. A clear conscience fears no probe.

At this point,I think am right to conclude CCT chairman is making fun of the process.and obviously acting out a script. Bukky will resist any attempt to hijack the senate.Dullardinho will not be allow to rule by indirect-decree. Its Democracy babe.
ReplyDeleteLol...Drama Drama Drama.
ReplyDeleteMadam Linda, there was nothing from the court of appeal with regards to this matter! I suggest you verify your news before misleading your readers. Do have a great day
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm
ReplyDeleteDon't mind dem..they be disgracing themselves.. Its becoming too obvious that they are being pushed by some authority to prosecute saraki
ReplyDeleteconflict of interest.
ReplyDeleteOur judicial system contradicting each others
ReplyDeleteStupid Pple witch- hunting saraki bcos of their own selfish interest. They will fail!!!
ReplyDeleteYou just showed the world how ignorant you are.
DeleteYou are the ignorant one @ anon
DeleteThe judiciary system in Nigeria is messed up. A house standing torn against each other.
ReplyDeleteSoon the code of conduct Tribunal and the Court of Appeal will start a war of words.
No be naija again?
Sincerely speaking the mind of Amadioha
The tribunal chairman should stop fooling himself and obey court order.
ReplyDeleteOde-the CCT is equal to any court in Nigeria. You are ignorant!
DeleteThe CCT has a right to summon Saraki. The longer this goes on the more Saraki loses credibility here and abroad. He is proven to us he is nothin g but a corrupt rogue.

Nigeria Criminal Justice System is a Sham! Court injunction, stay of execution order and arrest warrant. Who on earth can argue this sort of criminal Justice system can convict any highly placed criminal?! If U like be a SAN, Lacasera or Fan Yoghurt!
ReplyDeleteI just tire for these people...
ReplyDeleteNothing were politicians no go do.........thiefnubu work
ReplyDeleteNa wa for Nigerian lawmakers o
ReplyDeleteMadam Linda check your facts. There was no such order and beside why is he running away frm CCT? I thought he said he has nothing to hide.
ReplyDeleteBut y is saraki dodging d CCT sef....with all dis seems he's guilty...it is well
ReplyDeleteThese guys are just telling us they are puppets controlled by their puppeteer... Their masters
ReplyDeletePoor him
ReplyDelete~D great anonymous!
Ask me oo.. Dnt knw wot's wrng wit em.
ReplyDeleteThey are very aware.
ReplyDeleteBaba GoSlow and Tinubu are trying to remove him by all means.
So they can install their puppet.
Let's see who go blink first.
ReplyDeleteIs the court of appeal not aware that he has to get his thieving ass to answer his charges, or is he above the law ms. wailer?
ReplyDeleteAppeal court is yet to seat on d matter on the other hand I hope this wil not stop wit saraki alone
ReplyDeletethis danladi umar is a moron,he is showing very clear that he has little regard for due process.
ReplyDeleteNobody can remove saraki. He was duly elected. Enough of all these witch hunting. Is this the change that people shouted about?
ReplyDeleteOde, you just made an idiotic statement. Most Nigeria youths are so poorly educate because of men like Saraki that deny them funds, that they end up saying the kind of rubbish remark you just made. You my friend a victim of saraki. The very reason he should be removed.
DeleteHe is the country's chief lawmaker and he cannot even respect the constitution.
ReplyDeleteWhat is he afraid of?
what goes around comes around i guess
ReplyDeleteMmmh. Dis is becoming childish. Will democracy really work here. It take forever to conclude a case.
ReplyDeleteThis is total chaos. How far, Nigeria?
ReplyDelete@ Linda: Following my earlier comment on your blog, please open this link and read what actually transpired at the CCT, Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal which all Sat today. No Stay was granted. http://www.punchng.com/news/asset-declaration-saraki-absent-as-trial-resumes/
ReplyDeleteLinda what"s ur point exactly? In the first place why couldn't he appear in court? Is he above the law?
ReplyDeleteAPC shud just disown Saraki cos he will be their downfall. Corrupt Nigerians who have money will just tow his path to make a mess of Buhari"s anti-corruption fight. Shame on our judiciary.
ReplyDeletePlease let the people in the higher autorithy should try for once respect the judiciary, the Era of impunity is over. I strongly advice saraki to appear before the CCT if truly is pure..
ReplyDeleteWho is fooling who? Or of what interest is this saga? Whose interest is this madness, the poor or masses my foot? Why all these years,APC and Senate president saga Season II. Lets watch the film but all i see is collective conspiracy n collateral condemnation from the Hand that fed Him... Dont touch that dice.
