Choi! See where students of Orizu College of Education charge their phones

...due to lack of electricity. Students of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe in Anambra State are complaining that they haven't had any electricity for over 2 straight weeks now. They say students now resort to paying huge amounts of money to charge their phones by the road side.

Students are really upset at PHCN's lack of consideration and are asking for the State governor's intervention in this matter. More photos after the cut...

Most times when we walk into big malls, boutiques, supermarkets, we never question their prices. We pay exactly what we see on the price tags and even hand out tips to the staff.
But the moment we are out of these shops and want to buy banana, our bargaining game gets off to the roof. Poor widow with 12 hungry children at home tells you banana is N100. She even takes out her time to explain how difficult it was for her to even buy it, how the economy is so tough.
But we insist that if it's not N50, we are not paying. Some of us even step back into our cars and make to drive away. But because 'half bread is better chin chin', this woman is forced to call you back and sell to you at little or no gain. In her heart, she cries, she's worried about how she'll survive with her children. She silently reassures herself that 'It's well.
God will definitely provide.'' While you happily chop the luscious banana. Take some seconds out and think about this, guys. Please don't bargain hard with small vendors like this. They do business not to buy designer bags, Gucci shoes but to LIVE and EAT!

  32. 2 straight weeks is just too minute compared to Akungba-Akoko, Ondo state, which is the host-community for Adekunle Ajasin University, a foremost state university in Nigeria where Power Supply is always interrupted for a whole academic session, recently the power failure is 3 months and still counting. you can call the community 'home of darkness'. Students proffer solutions to their 'dead' phones by charging on the streets where a generating set is powered.,and more than often you find cases of stolen phones, this is a mess.

  33. Only 2weeks and u guys are making noise. Uli students for over 10yrs have never depended on phcn light cos we don't see it often. U guys should go buy "I better pass my neighbour and tighten the carburetor" so the fuel go dey Las biko.
