Rivers State sponsored students in the U.S also cry out in distress

The Rivers state students in the UK say they have been abandoned. The ones in the US are also complaining. Below is what they wrote in;
Imagine staying in a foreign country where due to visa-type, you are not allowed to work as a student and yet you have had to feed and source for accommodation from strangers or squat with friends for about 4 months during the summer break. So far none of us have had to sleep under a bridge to pass a night, but time has come for us to resume school and we need help as we cannot do much to help our predicament.
Some of us can not even afford our fare back to school. we urgently need the Rivers State government to meet their responsibilities to us and pay our fees, including tuition and upkeep allowances owed for 8 months. Rivers State (U.S based) students are faced with the issue of being dropped out of school due to the fact that their tuition have not been paid since last year. Some schools have issued deadlines with the earliest being 15th August, 2015 for the fees to be paid, otherwise, the students would not be enrolled for the semester or even register for classes. It is disheartening to know that our government has failed us in that regard and if nothing is done about our predicament, we would most likely lose our F1 student status and may face deportation.

    1. The govt has no money. The money was used to sponsor Buhari. Go and collect your fees from Buhari and Amaechi. Wike cannot inherit Amaechi's debt because Amaechi left an empty treasury. Cry out to the president and not to Wike.

    1. I thank God for you because your parents can afford over 5million naira at a go. Before you make some comments brainstorm on the situation at hand. Do you think if our parents can help, they will leave us to suffer?

  20. Is not limited to UK or USA alone. Those of us in Hungary are faced with the same plight. We have written series of letters to RSSDA to no avail. Our situation has moved from frying pan to fire. Pls help publish our plight so that Nigerians at home and abroad can help us appeal to RSSDA. Thank you

  21. It's a shame dat Amaechi was a governor in Rivers...lets be honest wike got into office only in d month of June and met an empty treasury...so we need Amaechi $ his supporters to explain why 5months before he left office he didn't settle these students..(Meaning since January)....Dat brings to a proper conclusion dat rivers pple know wat they hav been saying about Gov. Ameachi using Rivers funds for sponsoring presidential campaigns as Director General of APC Presidential campaign team..Yet his mouth is wide across d federation ranting cuz off ministerial position...im sure wike. will do somethin abt it cuz he is now in charge...but my point is Ameachi is fully responsible for non payment of their Maintenance allowances....In conclusion...Mr president all eyes are watching...u can't claim to be fighting corruption and sametime hav such a corrupt Man in ur Cabinet...Time wil tell how well u mean for dis Nation Nigeria..Godbless our Great Country

  24. Ameachi will tell you He has paid all their schools fees, other dues and everything, lol and you all will believe. He'll tell you He has never seen/dont have #1 billion & if He has Nigerians should stone him, and you all will believe. There are Rivers state students in Canada, South East Asia, UK, Russia, etc and all the monies have been passed in His govt's budget and collected. yet where's the money? children are suffering and might find themselves doing what they shouldn't. God help Us all

  28. The government regardless of whom has taken over should operate in continuity. I don't know why Amaechi is being called out here. I believe these people were not given scholarships out of his personal funds but rather by the state therefore it is now to whomever is running the state to address this issue.
