Photos: Bono visits Nigeria for Povertyissexist campaign

The #povertyissexist campaign got a major boost as one of its founding members Bono of the U2 band flew in to join in on the campaign and remix of the strong girl song. The activities started with meetings with the civil society in company of ambassadors of the povertyissexist campaign which Omotola leads.

In the meeting were stronggirl and powerhouse Waje and Zimbabwean singer Selmor Mtukudzi . Bono then went with the very large delegation to the studio where they were joined by Dbanj ,Bankyw, tanzania's Diamond platinumz and cobhams.

There was also a media meet where Bono, Omotola, Dbanj, waje, Selmor and diamond platinumz answered questions on the campaign moderated by One's Dr sipho. A dinner reception was then held where Bono danced to music from Waje,Seyi shay,Dbanj and victoria kimani . The very well attended party had dignitaries from all works including MI, Dj jimmy Jatt, gbemi olateru- olagbegi ,tayo faniran of bba and CaptainE . Omotola who has been working with One on the povertyissexist campaign then reminded everyone to sign the petition which now has over 2million signatures and join the movement to end poverty in Africa by empowering more women.

  4. Most times when we walk into big malls, boutiques, supermarkets, we never question their prices. We pay exactly what we see on the price tags and even hand out tips to the staff.
But the moment we are out of these shops and want to buy banana, our bargaining game gets off to the roof. Poor widow with 12 hungry children at home tells you banana is N100. She even takes out her time to explain how difficult it was for her to even buy it, how the economy is so tough.
But we insist that if it's not N50, we are not paying. Some of us even step back into our cars and make to drive away. But because 'half bread is better chin chin', this woman is forced to call you back and sell to you at little or no gain. In her heart, she cries, she's worried about how she'll survive with her children. She silently reassures herself that 'It's well.
God will definitely provide.'' While you happily chop the luscious banana. Take some seconds out and think about this, guys. Please don't bargain hard with small vendors like this. They do business not to buy designer bags, Gucci shoes but to LIVE and EAT!

  19. Men or women that are calling Omotola fat, why don't you wait till you have 4kids and see how ur body will look. For d men wait till ur wife has even one, den we'll see how ur body is.
Everybody needs not be stick thin, God created us to have differences. The most important thing is you being happy and confident about urself which Omotola is.
Be hating on sm1 whose life is progressing while urs stays stagnant.
