I am not married to Buhari's son- INEC acting chairman says

INEC's acting Chairman, Amina Zakari has denied claims that she is married to President Buhari's son. She refuted the claims in an interview with reporters in Abuja recently
"I would say Gen. Buhari did not appoint me as a commissioner; President Jonathan did. Before that, Gen. Obasanjo appointed me as a special assistant and I was posted to FCT where I was secretary for health, agriculture and social development at the same time. At the time President Jonathan came, he was looking for people that had integrity. That was what I was told, and I found myself in the commission and did my best. For somebody to now say Gen. Buhari knew me and gave me the job, obviously he knew I am a hard worker and he is a principled person.
I have never known him for nepotism. He is a very principled person. If there are familial ties, the principle would have rubbed off on that family. I come from a very principled family. My father survived two regimes that were jailing and sacking people, and he survived both. And for that, I don’t think I would do anything that would jeopardise that principle. I can’t say the general is my in-law. I am not married to his son and my daughter is not married to him. That is what I understand about being an in-law. But obviously, in life, you have acquaintances, people you have known. But I think people should not get distracted by this ‘family or no family’. Am I competent? Can I deliver? Can I conduct my affairs with integrity? The President’s message is for people to be honest and to have integrity. This is a statement he sent to me. ‘Don’t do anything against your principle.’ Already, I have that principle and I will maintain it"she said.

  13. Your tenure as commissioner has expired, so you have no legal right staying on in that commission even if we are to do away with the moral qualms of nepotism. You guys think you can hoodwink all the people at all times. It is not working. This your explanation is dead before arriving.

  20. Well, if I am the president of the Federal Republic of Naija, I would say “Fellow Nigerians let us always dig our facts before saying anything”. This is because the innocent widow you accused also has the right to defend herself. I'm my saying something?

  21. This woman should not obfuscate issues. What Alhaji Takeshi said is that Mrs Zahari's father was married to Gen. Buhari ' s father and that the young Buhari lived with Mrs Zakari ' father. That clearly she has a relationship that will make her impartial in an election in ol ing Buhari and his party.

  22. Agreed you are not married to Boohari's son nor your daughter married to his but the question you tactically dodge and the ambiguity surrounding your respond is mind boggling. Was your Late father and Emir married to BUHARI'S SENIOR SISTER???????? Was it not Boohari that influence your appointment under GEJ??????? Did Buhari as one point in life lived with your father and you???? If GEJ has put someone from his wife place at head, would Jega-de-Jaja man been able to rigged your Buhari in? Nigerian are not fools

  23. Who in his right senses is after this Widow, after all GEJ must have found her worthy of her initial appointment in 2011.

I am still joggling this statement in my head and I must say it just put a hole in your integrity ma'am. Your definition of in-law is not the same as Nigeria's meaning of in-law. Which is a little beyond what you just stated. Anyway, since you said Jonathan appointed you and not Buhari then I will leave it alone. All the best!

  35. LOL. You again claim Buhari is not your inlaw? Goodluck appointed you, but has your tenure not expired? Jega handed over to somebody else but your inlaw matters caused an over rule. What integrity are you then boasting about? Are you not the one who held up elections in 2011? Nigerians eye de open small small, we know say you and your Oga na fraud.
