President Buhari recalls ambassadors

Pres. Buhari has recalled Nigerian non-career ambassadors in foreign countries. The ambassadors were recalled as part of efforts to reposition the country’s foreign policies. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, confirmed the recall.
Adesina said only non-career ambassadors are affected in the recall.
“Yes, I can confirm to you that non-career ambassadors have been recalled by the Federal Government,” the presidential spokesman said.

  12. It's obvious that PMB is vendetta. He hurriedly did this because of what happened to his family in Saudi Arabia. Frankly speaking, it's absolutely wrong that our PMB should be reactive all the time. I am just watching. Many people shouting change will soon discover that Change to PMB is different from the change most of them have in mind.

  32. Thanks God. The late S.O. will be so so so glad. How sad he is gone... he always cringed ssat the spate of non-career appointees that do the country great harm outside because they are just there for the paper; people there to fulfill political promises. These mostly untrained and uncouth, non-patriotic individuals make great mockery of the service and destroy the legacy of the Nigerian Foreign Ministry and the trend to place them in key and strategic postings just made the whole situation unbearable for those that really merit, are adequately equipped and have Nigeria at heart if given the opportunity. I hope this move is not to fill those positions in like manner though.

  35. Na so! Time to replace them with Northern Muslims! Bhuhari's tribalism and nepotism is so acute because he didn't go to school at all!

  36. Please replace them with Technocrats who know about foreign inter-relationship, will help implement Nigerian policies overseas and be there for Nigerians in whatever foreign country they find themselves.
Many Nigerians are abused, treated detrimentally and even killed whilst the so called foreign ambassadors fold their arms. Why have a Home Office overseas if the citizens are not supported..
Right now in INDIA, we're told Nigerians over there are abused and treated like slaves. WHERE IS THE AMBASSADOR in the middle of all this.
Nigerian foerign embassies the world over is very below par. Many will testify to the low level standard of that in in THE UK. I believe the ambassador there has been in that post for years. Bring in highly educated, disciplined Nigerians to these posts that will improve the image of Nigeria.
