On his second trip in 1992, he traveled with Michelle, who was his fiancee at the time. They married a few months after that visit. He wanted Michelle to meet his paternal grandmother & other extended family members.
He then visited in 2006 as a US senator. He moved around relatively freely and visited his father’s grave and his grandmother’s tin-roof house. Two years later, he became the president of the United States of America. (he's pictured with his grandmother above). More photos after the cut...
Ok

Obama is indeed a great man and was born great. Thank God he located his root and wht God has destined for his life.

ReplyDeleteInteresting read!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy is all of this coming into the public domain now? A veiled effort to whip "Non-compliant African continent" into accepting this Gay rights. America doesn't do things like this for nothing. Africans would be so foolish to think that Obama just simply "wants to visit" his hometown. It never happens that way in the free world.
ReplyDeleteSpare us the Gay talk, Mr Obama. African culture is too deep.
What a world! Lovely lovely pictures, memories and wonderful reunion!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is wat we call transformation and not the transformation we experience now. Lord pls remember me too and change my story.
ReplyDeleteAtleast he still remembers wer his roots, despite how great he's become
ReplyDeleteHe looks like his mother
ReplyDeleteLovely
ReplyDeleteGreatest black man ever. No black man has ever achieved what Obama has achieved. Its not easy for a black to rule the whites. And that useless and lifeless willhemmna moses calling obama an idiot. If obama is an idiot, what shd we call your father that couldnt give you a good education and who is also uselss to the community. Stupid ass mofo!

ReplyDeleteNice collection
ReplyDeleteRoots! The most powerful man in the world is African.
ReplyDeleteDid he not build even one fine house for his people?
ReplyDeleteThis is part of my love for Obama, he never forget his root and that is what accounted for his success in life. He never blamed his father for abandoning his mother, rather he simply forgive and forget past mistakes and move on. If he had denied his root early in life it would have been used against him when the stakes is now high. I hope a lot of us will have a lesson or two to learn from Obama
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a rich history. One thing I love about Obama is that he is very proud to associate with his people.
ReplyDeleteHe truly knows and identifies with his root, truly African; something many aren't and won't be proud of.
ReplyDeleteDestiny can never be Denied not even delayed.
ReplyDeleteThat vuvuzela P guy

ReplyDeleteOne work "BELIEVE". if you can only believe in yourself and work towards your belief, that all.
ReplyDeletewow! imagine coming back as the president of the united states.
ReplyDeleteThe lesson we should learn from this is to know and be proud of where you come from.

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. It saddens me when I see Nigerians here in d US treating their kids like Americans like they don't have an heritage, saying their kids shouldn't speak or relate with their tradition.
ReplyDeleteTime
ReplyDeleteRUBBISH ,DEVIL INCARNET ,666 ,YOU ARE NOT AFRICAN,YOU ARE NOT OUR SON

ReplyDeleteNever forget your days of little beginning. What ever condition you find yourself now will never remain like this forever..
ReplyDelete5 THINGS I WISH COULD CHANGE ABOUT NAIJA WEDDINGS
I get this whole never forgetting your root, bla bla bla. We all know Obama has African heritage, his pa is Kenyan, his ma is American. We all know this, so, I don't get the fuss with all the comments. I originally don't do this, but this sure is making a mountain out of a molehill, and it really doesn't warrant such.
ReplyDeleteAlso, as an African, he has behaved abysmally, crime against blacks in America has been on the rise. He did absolutely nothing for the blacks who were glad that their own was there to reign over them. He did everything that the culture of Africa forbids. I don't think he ought to be celebrated cos he hasn't behaved like the son of the soil and is an acclaimed disgrace to the black sperm that formed him
ReplyDeleteVERY HUMBLE TO THE CORE...
ReplyDeleteNobody saw it coming. The making of a leader is usually something very funny. He gets punished, disliked, ridiculed and finally accepted by a few. then....boom.....
ReplyDeleteNice one
ReplyDeleteThis is buttressing the fact that with God all things are possible.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are inspirational. Never rule out anybody in Life who would have thought that an African who truly knows his father's village will rule America. That is why it is disheartenning to hear that it's this same African (who should know and respect our values)that promotes this
ReplyDeleteanti- human and animalistic practice called gay. May God help us
