Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the federal High Court in Abuja today granted former Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido and his sons, Aminu and Mustapha N75 million bail. Lamido and his sons are standing trial for allegedly embezzling N1.3 billion public funds while he served as Governor of Jigawa state.
The trio were remanded in Kano Prison on July 9th and were flown to Abuja yesterday for their bail hearing today. See more photos after the cut...

ReplyDeleteHas the Nigeria justice systemm now become a joke? Look at the man accused of a serious crime grinning from ear to ear as if he's going to collect a prize. This despicable and ludicrous attitude sends the wrong msg to the general populace about crime and should be frowned upon. We need a change!

ReplyDeleteNa wa oooooo, so he stole 1.3 billion and he is to pay a fine of 75 million, not even up to 1/10 of what he stole, chai Nigerian Judiciary System.....
ReplyDeleteBail! Not fine
DeleteTell me why others will not want to steal. 75m bail as against 1.3billion. Mtcheeww
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the Black Race has a problem...taking Nigeria as a case study.growth will be extremely difficult in this nation cos of things like this..the law is meant to punish the poor n protect the Rich. I am really fed up.....I really can't wait for God to come n right this injustice n give equality to all.
ReplyDeleteUntil our judicial has the gut to jail corrupt politicians , then no way for this country.
ReplyDeleteLinda u see am ???
Their bail suppose to be 1Nbl or N500ml. Smh
ReplyDeleteFunny
ReplyDeleteHow come Ohakim got bail equal to the stolen amount while Nyako,Lamido and sons got just a fraction of the amt they stole as bail?.
ReplyDeleteLinda, Lamido was given bail on self recognition but he will submit his international passport at d court but the sons Aminu &Mustapha with their friend Wada were given 75million bail and will also submit their pp at d commission. They were however all remanded in Efcc custody cos the custodian of their pp which has ban at d Efcc was said 2 have closed 4 d day & cannot b reached. Talk abt politics.
ReplyDeleteDis a great injustice hw can he embazzle 1.3b and u guys grant him bail of 75m,dat is madness if its yahoo boys or drug dealers d stupid men go just abandom dia matter thunder fire u
