Convo between Nigerian dad and his daughter on Facebook

The lady posted news photos to her Facebook page and her dad commented on her page, calling her sweet and cute. How nice! The lady responds and also writes on valuing your parents. Continue...

Sarah writes below...
Sometimes we get all busy with little time to share with our family, friends or loved ones. I was watching Marc Mero's message to students on Youtube and it had me in tears. I'm victim, as often times i forget the fact my parents are getting older by the day, and those times i get back from the office just to throw myself in bed, my mum comes in with all the jist to tell..lol All that rings in my head is OMG!! this woman go and sleep oooo. The times i get like 5 missed calls from my dad and i rush to call back, hoping all is well then i get, "ohhh, i was just calling to check up on u"
My dad shows me all the time how much he cherishes and loves me and i just want to use this medium to tell the world how much i love him back. Find time to call, chat, see your parents cos it might be the last time. Those that have none will give an arm to have them back. I love u dad.

  22. She isn't lying. I lost my dad a day before my birthday in May, and every time I think about him hot tears fill my eyes and I feel guilty every time that he didn't see him before he died. I saw him last October last year and kept on saying i will go visit but kept pushing it cause time wasn't convenient and now anytime I remember that I could have had that last memory of him instead of the memory I have I just cry. My last memory of my dad is him in tears as I was leaving after my last visit in October, never knowing I will never see him again. He cried cause of me that day and now I cry cause of him every time since his death, filled with guilty.

Trust me people there is not amount of money or success that give you the joy your parents give you unless you've got demons as parents. When they are gone you will always wish you had their time, you spent more time with them. The money you gave them when they were alive to cover for the times you wouldn't see them but felt the money will at least make up for it, wouldn't feel up the empty space and guilt their death will leave in your heart.

I love you dad, didn't tell you that a lot while you were alive, I will forever miss you. Sleep on. Forever in my heart. I will give anything for just one more day with you to tell you how much I love you. RIP

  24. Lovely.
I always wish like every other girl who's father are still with them to see mine again but he's gone for too long that sometimes. I forget what fatherly love is.
I know he's resting in the bosom of God.

U are lucky to have a good father, I had a very terrible one that beats me with anything despite d fact that I was 19 yrs then,he disgraced me infront of his drunk friends, beats me with belt so that d belt hits me in my pussy, slaps me in church in front of everyone, He fell sick for 2yrs and died, I don't miss him, I just wished I had a better father, when he was sick,i never pitied him..im glad he'd left my life, very wicked soul,my mum even got tired of him...im 28 nw....

  46. This is a lovely write-up. Wish people will learn to appreciate their parents and not take them for granted. They have proven to us time and time again they would do anything to make us happy and successful. Thank God for my parents. Thank God for the gift of life to appreciate my parents everyday.
PS: parents will not live forever so make sure you make them proud before they are gone.

  62. Titilope Says,

Parents will always be parents o... I tell u. am also a Daddy's girl but married now.. and my parents calls me everyday(especially my Mum) jus to check up, sometimes morning and evening.."are u in the office now? are you back from office?" etc.. I complain n tell them to keep their credit for urgent calls and she said I don't call she has to call to know am ok(when she call every now n then, is it necessary to call) but seriously?
I jus don't want them to keep spending so much on calls, even if we are sponsoring d calls, they don't ve to use all up on us, right? Lolz, But happy I ve got them around to stil fuse over me.. Love them to d moon and back!
