Revenge killing: Christian reportedly beheads ISIS jihadist

A Syrian Christian fighter has beheaded an Islamic State group (IS) militant to avenge people "executed" by the jihadists in northeastern Syria, a monitor said on Friday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the incident took place on Thursday in Hasakeh province, where IS holds large areas of the countryside.

According to the monitor, the Christian fighter, a member of the minority Assyrian community, found the jihadist in the local village of Tal Shamiram.

"He took him prisoner and when he found out he was a member of IS, the Assyrian fighter beheaded him in revenge for abuses committed by the group in the region," Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said.

The Observatory is based in Britain but has covered the Syrian conflict since it broke out four years ago thanks to a network of sources inside the country.

The Christian was fighting in the ranks of Kurdish forces who earlier this month drove IS out of more than a dozen Assyrian villages the jihadists had captured in Hasakeh.

      Happy New Month!

I pray today marks total turn around in our lives, and point of contact to every household wit God meeting our needs even b4 they arise.

Change does not necessarily assure progress but progress implacably requires change. Change is inevitable. Change 4d better is a full-time job.

Change is here in Nigeria, and remember true change begins with a change in our attitude!

      God bless Nigerians!
      God bless our leaders!

  50. The commandment reads "Thou shalt not murder". Big difference than "kill". I don't like what he did, but we don't know the circumstances. Perhaps this ISIS guy was a threat to the community he was hiding in. Maybe he was preparing to be a suicide bomber. We don't know with the little bit we are told.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Wow, tochukwu obu. You are seriously misinformed.
Christianity was never a warring community in it's early years.
The Crusades you refer to were fought with Muslums against Muslums. The Shia and Sunni have been fighting each other since Mohammad died. The Crusaders were fighting WITH the Shia against the Sunni, for the liberation of Jerusalem.
As for the Inquisition, which I know will be brought up, in about 300 years, there were about 600 people killed. Far cry from what is going on with ISIS (Sunni).

  52. WoooW this is great, beheading was their scare tactic now they have a taste of their own medicine.but Kurdistan though, the only group of Arabs that religion has not yet split, from kurds in syria,Lebanon and Jordan who are christian to the muslim kurds spread over iraq, yemen, and the Arab world. They are the U.S only chance of defeating ISIS, the Iraqi govt is beyond incompetent soon Baghdad will fall and all those years of U.S occupation is now counter productive.

  53. Jesus didn't ask for that.christians, though not stupid nor cowards as asked to do good to those that claim to hate u.love always wins.

  54. Dear Linda, I think its very important you verify such sensitive news before you publish them. The fact that someone is not an Islamist does not make him a Christian. While i totally detest the killing of Xtians by ISIS, I dont support such revenge.Enough of the blood shedding!!!
