The organisation made the recommendation based on the 'peaceful way President Jonathan conceded to the current President -Buhari, hence stated that former Pres Jonathan deserves the attention of Nobel Peace Prize committee.
The group stated:
The group stated:
'He may have not promoted “fraternity between nations” but he surely promotes fraternal peace among Nigerians by conceding power.'
"concession speech by President Jonathan averted bloodshed, violence and imbroglio in the most populous country in Africa. This gesture by Jonathan buttressed to the whole world that Nigeria has joined the comity of civilized nations.
Nigeria can be said to have shown great leadership in Africa and made Africans in general and Nigerians in particular to comprehend that transfer of power does not need to be violent but rather peaceful as heralded by the outgoing president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan."Source: Leadership.ng

DeleteHaters hug wet electric wire after all Bible said a prophet is not honored or valued in his own land
DeleteGEJ is an epitome of humility, you wished well but power mongers never allowed you have peace in your administration. Posterity will vindicate you. God bless you GEJ, may peace continue to be your portion.
DeleteHahahahahaha!!! I agree!!! For being the WORST PRESIDENT EVER LIVETH!!!!!!!!! No one can possibly rival him when it comes to that. Hahhahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!
DeleteNobel prize for looting yes. He definitely deserves it.
DeleteVery intelligent president! Luv him dearie. Lolo1
ReplyDeleteHe deserves it. congratulations Sir
ReplyDeleteWorst president. Keep dreaming
DeleteLmao. Seriously Nobel Peace Prize? For doing what he is supposed to do? If he didnt concede defeat and there was blood shed, wouldnt he be prosecuted in the International Criminal Court just like Laurent Gbagbo? He only did so to save himself. If there was an Otueke Peace Prize he deserves that. He doesnt merit a Nobel Peace Prize for doing what he is meant to do. Assuming he was a perfoming president who thoroughly served our country, I would have recommended him myself. He was a complete utter failure who left our economy in shambles, our security in dissarray. The world must be out of its mind if it now celebrates failures for conceding defeat.
ReplyDeleteReal talk !!! Peace price ke. Country is in a f--king mess. Prize for failure
DeleteAs if your opinion matters, who cares what you think? Back seat for you joor.
DeleteI concur absolutely. Yeye dey smell.
DeleteShut up u dumb. He saved ur miserable life
DeleteSo did Buhari do what he was supposed to do in 2011? Was Buhari prosecuted by the ICC for his failure to concede and the subsequent bloodshed he caused in 2011? If it was so easy to concede why didn't Buhari do it then? Baseless argument!
DeleteTunji in ur effing face!! It's in ur face dat if will happen, she I 2019 is coming? Buhari won't go for a second term so another election will come up. Tinubu must convince u fools to vote for osinbajo while the North will want to bring out another person, SS and SE will definitely vote for the North because somehow we prefer them to sell outs like d SW!
DeleteUr just an asshole. Cozy orjiako ass liking Tunji. May peace depart from u.
DeleteWell said.
DeleteI know say you be yoruba goat
DeleteLMAO INDEED TUNJI BUT YOU ARE SIMPLY WRONG. I PUT IT TO YOU ON GOOD AUTHORITY THAT NIGERIA IS ALMOST A BANANA REPUBLIC NOW AND IF WE HAVE ONE SANE MAN IN OUR MIDST WE WILL DEFINATELY CELEBRATE HIM. HE DESERVES THE AWARD.
DeleteYou're a disgrace to your family. Anu ofia.
DeleteTell them, I hope there reading it. Complete failure to south $ south
DeleteYou sound lik a criminal.thinkin wit ur ass ewu
DeleteGo get a life Tunji. I too know. Na you know pass people wey nominate am. The issue is it that Nigerians never seem to appreciate things or rather hypocrisy won't let them. The election was obviously rigged if GEJ had rejected it you think we will all be enjoying the peace we are enjoying now? Even PMB thanked GEJ for his magnamity and you are here talking rubbish you low life idiot.
DeleteThank you o Tunji, someone needs to remind them. SMH
DeleteThis is why we will never progress, giving a nobel prize for doing the right thing you're supposed to do...like seriously, everybody here commenting that its right is just foolish and simply uneducated
DeleteOn point! He never even lost the election and he could have contested if he wanted due to atrocities Jega and co committed in the north with their so called card readers and under aged voting just to make sure he took power back to the north. Jonathan will always be my hero.
ReplyDeleteOn point! He never even lost the election and he could have contested if he wanted due to atrocities Jega and co committed in the north with their so called card readers and under aged voting just to make sure he took power back to the north. Jonathan will always be my hero.

A strong man indeed, only weak men agitate violence in the face of defeat..fare well my best president. You think of Nigeria b4 your ambitions not those group of power mongers that are ready to sock the baboons nd the dogs in blood just to get hold of power..nature will deal with them in time
ReplyDeleteA strong man indeed, only weak men agitate violence in the face of defeat..fare well my best president. ReplyDeleteThe promoters of AFRIPOL are mad people and outright insane. A man lost election and concedes and you are talking about noble peace prize. What other options did GEJ have. Until we stop celebrating mediocrity and desist from this culture of sycophancy, we won't move forward as a nation. What any patriotic organization should be focused on is holding accountable the past administration for squandering, mismanaging, looting, theft and mortgaging of the future of Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteI must comment group of people. You just said thrash. Go get a life.
DeleteJokers!
ReplyDeleteGood one. Enemies can go and hug transformer
ReplyDelete@Anon8:20 U can even award GEJ urself. Ode!
DeleteYes oooo na true oya all u bitter Nigerians start spewing crap out of ur mouth and commenting negatively
ReplyDelete@Jasmine, nobel peace prize is not a department store gift. #takenote.
DeleteThese are the kind of proposals that make the advanced countries to scorn Africa. Smh
ReplyDeleteThe same you yorubas will soon start fighting pmb
DeleteOh pleaseee, enough of this already!!! He did it because he knew Nigerians rejected him at the polls(even before the elections he saw the handwriting on the wall hence his trying to postpone the elections and last minute work) and not in the interest of peace so he doesn't deserve the peace prize. I'm sure he did not even imagine the implications of what he did
ReplyDeleteSometimes, the simplest decision in life are often the hardest. He deserves it.
DeleteSpeak 4 urself, not Nigerians.
DeleteWhy didn't Buhari concede in 2011 if it was that easy? No, it is not the way of a power blood thirsty man ... so we had bloodshed and deaths after buhari lost. Hate makes you unreasonable and ugly.
DeleteYou say? Noble price award. This must be a joke?
ReplyDeleteWhat is this nau. What of the way raging in North East. What is the peace he proffered? Ewo lejo
ReplyDeleteHe deserve it of course, because if he didn't concede defect maybe we will discussing something else by now... latest Nigerian news
ReplyDeleteHe will forever remain my hero. Kudos
ReplyDeleteYesoooo. I doubt if Buhari can do same. Cos he didn't in the past and all his APC losers like rotimi amaechi is yet to do same
Delete@Anon10:19, No problem to call GEJ a hero as he didn't do like other African presidents, but calling for nobel peace prize is highly exaggerated. Go checkout the criteria for receiving such a world prize.
DeleteI sincerely believe the promoters of AFRIPOL are either mad people or outright insane or maybe a blend of both. A man lost an election clearly (not a marginal defeat by any means, 3 million plus votes), and concedes defeat with no other obvious choice and you dare insult our sensibilities by nominating the leader of the most corrupt and purposeless government Nigeria has ever had for a Noble peace prize. The Noble Peace prize committee would not even touch your submission, let alone consider it. Our focus as a nation should be economic empowerment of all Nigerians (at least the hard working productive masses) and to hold accountable a very corrupt government of GEJ's that has looted with impunity, mismanaged, squandered and mortgaged the economic future of Nigeria. GEJ is a monumental disgrace by every means and standards. He is better not spoken of and if possible deleted from the history of Nigeria. LINDA IKEJI, approve my comment
ReplyDeleteWell said bro. Nigerians have gotten so used to being treated shabbily by their leaders. A president loses elections and concedes defeat is not seen as a norm but a miracle. He will never get that award. Hero my foot
DeleteI bet my 1 million.naira you must be yoruba to drop this comment
Delete@Anon10:28 ...then U must be one of those PDP/GEJ Igbo apologists.
DeleteI dnt knw wat u guys sees in Gej. Believe it or not, He is better than Obj by far. He is indeed our Hero of Democracy.
DeleteAnon 8:37am we are yet to see how Buhari will fair. Just 6 days into his administration he has done very badly with confusion, chaos, anarchy and blood shed every where. No sense of focus and vision for the country ( most people can see that now). 100 people have so far been slaughtered by Boko haram in 6 days. Time will tell and all will see with their own eyes. Last time he was Petroluem minister $2.8b got missing ( that is equivalent of almost N800billion in todays currency) and till date it has not been accounted for. Pls do not judge till you see what the future holds.
DeleteAnd he is 19million better off than your he goat father. Asshole! Go then and hug transformer .
DeleteHaters. You're so pained. U thought You've humiliated him but God is lifting him higher against all odds. This is just the beginning of God's work in his life. Your Messiah is just one week in office already 82 dead already, the same reason u crucified gej
DeleteIt's nt abt being yoruba or other tribe, it's obvious dat gej failed Nigerians so shut up
DeleteYorubas are the worst hypocrites we have in this country and like SLS said they are the problem we have in this country. Evil people! Even during the inauguration gala night PMB and Atiku appreciated GEJ in their speeches but thiefnubu never did. Always looking for how to pull down people. You guys had better repent from your evil ways or perish in it.
Delete@anon 3:24, that's the reason our votes will forever go to the north once they r running against south west! SS/SE have merged now politically so right now we r stronger dan North and SW, you'll realise this in d next election! Gej carry go abeg. God will continue to lift you.
DeleteYes he deserves it, our hero
ReplyDeleteAward for what? He did not have a choice than to handover as all his political "god fathers" that put him in that position where already against him. He has never been a politician na luck shine on him, biko. He doesn't deserve any award, a man that could not control his wife. What are we talking about?
ReplyDeleteMtcheeeeeeeeeeeew
Even buharri said he deserves it and ur here licking ur ass. Smh
DeleteNice of them. If GEJ conceding defeat deserves a Noble peace price, then am sure they will confer it on him soon
ReplyDelete@Vincent ..a day dream. Perhaps he will get an African version of the prize.
DeleteI agree
ReplyDeleteHe tried so he shld be considered
ReplyDeleteThat's my man .he deserves it
ReplyDelete~make I go take one bottle of star beer~
Its well deserving......
ReplyDeleteThe noble king. Obj has wanted this award, but never got it. But look at GEJ today. Grace is what you need to be great. Engr Emy you are also great by grace. Engr Emy
ReplyDeleteRidiculous . Nelson Mandela got one so can u compare his deeds to that. People who put their lives up for others literally. 30yrs in prison for his nation. Martin Luther King, ghandi and your Malala folks are heroes. Mtscheee. A man got sacked by his people and he followed the rules so that he doesn't end up like Gbabo and he should get peace price. He should get handshake and that is hat. Naija always celebrates mediocrity.
ReplyDeleteThe worst comment ever. Monkey!
DeleteThe worst comment ever. Monkey!
DeleteThe Best comment ever. Genius.
DeleteYou can't compare Goodluck to all these people you mentioned above, they are all handwork of the West
DeleteI support Goodluck for #NoblePeacePrice
ReplyDelete@Gbagun U can even award him the prize urself. Lol.
DeleteI support this wholeheartedly.
ReplyDeleteI cannot help but think that if it were the other way round, Buhari would NEVER have conceded defeat so elegantly and magnanimously. It was a singular gesture that brought CALM to the Nations polity. We all lived in fear and trepidation at what loomed ahead after the polls at the time. BUT JONATHAN... even though I wasn't a great fan of his governance, he did that one singular thing that was so noteworthy. -HE BROUGHT PEACE TO NIGERIA.
For this reason, I wholeheartedly support this award to send a message across Africa that power to rule does not need to be violently fought for.
@Anon9:04 .. Obviuosly U don't know what the nobel peace prize is all about. Go school urself and stop disgracing urself here.
DeleteHe stands a good chance of winning it, but the only thing standing in his way is the way his government was run and the corruption claims trailing it.
ReplyDeleteHe truly does deserve a Nobel peace prize.
ReplyDeleteMac10...
Yeah, he deserve that prize. this gesture some people and even the present president couldn't accept but rather shaded tears and cause blood shed without coming out to stop/condemn the same.
ReplyDeleteBOLLOCKS!!!!
ReplyDeleteNot after playing politics with Boko Haram.
I agree with that
ReplyDeleteThe group AFRIPOL must really have a disorganized thought process just like a schizophrenic. If jonathan deserves one, me sef deserve am. TOTAL RUBBISH!
ReplyDeleteThen go and flog ur papa for not giving u the opportunity. Ewu!
DeleteLol.
DeleteYes he deserve's it.
ReplyDeleteYes, he deserves him. Long live sir! You're my hero
ReplyDeleteGood for him, and I wish him well. Thumbs up, and more power to his elbows.
ReplyDeleteLike seriously?!! As what nau?!!! He shdnt hv accepted defeat na! Nothing would hv still happened, God wouldn't hv key anything happen, God answered d prayers of Nigerians simple!
ReplyDeleteYes God answered our prayers by using Jonathan. If you like chose to forget what happened in 2011 when your messiah Buhari refused to accept the results. The families of the 800 people who died will never forget. Also choose to have selective amnesia that APC had already threatened parallel govt and all kinds of thing if they lost. Keep hating, the man has mad his name in history while no one knows you. Bitter person
DeleteGood deeds indeed yields gr8 rsults. Do gud, it wld never go unnoticed.
ReplyDeleteRubbish. Nobel peace prize for looting and allowing all his cronies and godfathers to steal Nigeria blind? Peace prize for leaving us with no light and fuel? Nonsense.
ReplyDeleteI choputas not! Linda take note!
ReplyDeleteI choputas not! Linda take note!
ReplyDeleteCan't be better said.apart from the fact that needs to be highlighted that with those silly advisers he has that would have told him to cancel the results and this time around he choose not to listen to them and do the right thing
ReplyDeleteI agree
ReplyDeleteI am in one million nd one in support of dis notion, the former president deserves it,if not for his behaviour/ character,we all won't b 2geda now.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous 8:37 a.m you can go on and on and bleat like a he-goat. Your demi-god and brainless Buhari lost an election with a wide margin of more than 12 million votes in 2011 and he never found it wise to congratulate GEJ. With his (Buhari) stance, more than 12 youth corp members lost their lives and many more Nigerians were killed in the North for no just reason than Buhari loosing an election.
ReplyDelete@Anon10:24,, Nobel peace prize is not a department store gift.#takenote.
DeleteNobel peace price is not a department store gift, and not an awarded for doing the needful, just because African leaders are die-on-the -seat presidents and one of them chose to do the right thing. This African organisation should stop halucinating or they should create an African 'nobel' peace price of their own. Lol.
ReplyDeletefor Joe to have conceded defeat I i think he deserves more than dis.
ReplyDeleteWill always be remembered of his kind heart towards us Nigerians. Luv u more. Always favoured
ReplyDeleteApprove my comment this time.
I'm yoruba and still have my head on my shoulders. In the wisdom of our elders, they say ''ti omo eni ba se dada o ye ka wi". Meaning if one's child does well, let's acknowledge it and praise him/her. We have had an ex - president who publicly and irresponsibly boasted that for him election was do-or-die, indirectly placing personal/party ambitions above lives of Nigerians. People had predicted doom violence disintegration of Nigeria, but a singular phone call (of defeat concession). Common, let's give honor to whom honor is due. If Liberians had a Jonathan instead of Taylor, or Sierra Leone had Jonathan in place of Gbagbo, they would have been singing better songs now. Nigerians let us appreciate that God saved us from chaos which magnitude no one could have ever imagined. Long live NIGERIA.
ReplyDeleteHonoring GEJ with a Nobel Prize for doing something as basic as making a concession speech is an insult to Africa. It shows how far behind the continent is when it comes to democracy. The continent so struggles with the concept that when a leader steps down from power, it's still a major feat. Get with the program, folks. A concession speech is the least he could do. His legacy should be judged for his effectiveness as a leader, not for how he accepted his fate after getting fired.
ReplyDeleteThose nominating him have forgotten that no permanent position in politics
ReplyDeleteWith almost 5,000 killed by Boko Haram, are people so orubebeistic tor just ignorant. GEJ of all people! CLUELESSNESS PERSONIFIED PGEJ?
ReplyDeleteHe deserves Piss Award
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:37am your criticism of GEJ is highly vitriolic and unfair to say the least. It is easy to stay at the side lines and criticise till you get in there and see the reality on ground. GEJ was blamed for almost
ReplyDeleteeverything. For the problems of legislature, judiciary,
local and state governments of both APC and PDP
states Nigerians blamed it on the presidency. Just 6
days into Buhari government already 100people have
died from Boko haram attacks, there is confusion,
chaos and mayhem every where. No clear vision and
focus for the way forward. APC claimed that the
economy was in ruins so a finance minister should
have been named by now. No senate president yet
and so much kata! kata!. Let us see how things pan
out in the next couple of months. But also remember that $2.8billion went missing from NNPC coffers when Buhari was petroleum minister (which is an equivalent of about N800billion in todays currency) and till date it has not been accounted for. The man is no saint.
Anyone that does not believe that GEJ did a great JOB by concealing defeat is a devil, that soul should be sentenced to hell where hypocrisies like him are dwelling.Weather you appreciate him or not does not count as most people are not born with good nature and if you are felling he has done nothing then it is an evidence that you have an evil nature inside you. the guy expressed a heroic character which is commendable. The blessing of God will never cease in his life for saving many lives from those who have plotted terror on innocent Nigerians especially my ibo people should they have lost this election.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, ma presido, dnt I just love this man and more.
ReplyDeleteGej is the best amongst the rest...bet me!!! Buhari even after leading Nigeria will not be nominated for such a prestigious award
ReplyDeleteSome peeps will start hating now. Gej deserves it. Some many see it as him doing the normal thing. We all see What's happening in Burundi. The president can be so powerful to make anything go his way before and after the election. Only God knows the number of death that was averted.
ReplyDeleteGod will continue to bless GOODLUCK EBELE AZIKIWE JONATHAN. Please repent and believe in Jesus Christ the saviour of mankind. Also believe in God. THE VOICE OF THE PROPHETESS

ReplyDeleteNigerians stand up to your Leaders and tell them the truth. Enough of this suffering and smiling, enough of this praise singing, award my foot. Give an award to a man who in 8 years did nothing to alleviate the suffering Nigerians. Instead what he did was turn this country into a lawless country. Took corruption to the highest level, ministers looting trillions and Billions of dollars from our National treasury, Liquidate our foreign reserve, our economy in shackles, no physical development to point to, infrastructural development is no where to be found, our Education is dead, Electricity has eluded us even after privatization, Nothing is working in this country. All this man did was lie to Nigerians and us into more debts. Has it now become something extra-ordinary to accept defeat in an election? He lost an election and i think it is normal for anybody in his shoes to do same. Let him go and think of how he has failed his people and the entire Nigerian people. He allowed his advisers and his ministers destroy him as a person and as a leader that he was meant to be. Nobel peace award for allowing thousands of Nigerians die in the hands of Boko haram and awarding Billions of contracts to militants in Niger Delta. Let him rest in peace. His is a failure to the south south people, where i equally come from.

its simple here, him conceding defeat practically saved thousand of lives that could be lost in a potential riot. for this reason , i give my vote of a big YES
