Erm, the new First Lady wore a N10m watch for her official portrait?

My hand is not in this one o....lol. I found the allegation on The Breaking Times. Read what they wrote below...
Investigations by Breaking Times on Monday revealed that Aisha Buhari, wife of the President of Nigeria wore a Cartier Baignoire Folle 18-Carat White Gold Diamond Ladies Watch that cost £34,500 to President Buhari’s inauguration on Friday, May 29. The equivalent of this at the current CBN foreign exchange rate of N303 to £1 is N10, 453, 000.
The Cartier Baignoire Folle 18-Carat White Gold Diamond Ladies Watch comes in a case made of rhodiumised white gold set with brilliant-cut diamonds. On the side of the case is an octagonal crown set with a diamond. The case is 44mm high, 35mm wide and 10mm thick and is covered by glare-proof sapphire crystal glass.

President Muhammadu Buhari was elected riding on the wave of strong anti-corruption, integrity and pro-masses sentiment. This shocking extravagance by Mrs. Buhari runs contrary to earlier indications that the Buharis are modest and the President, a pastoral farmer with 150 cows, barely raised the money to pay for his presidential nomination form.

She works so why exactly can't she spend her money. whatever her, her husband or her children may have purchased before now is nobody's business because it is their personal, hard-earned money. If he doesn't work as president, or he steals from nigeria then everyone has a right to speak. Please cut them some slack, he was once a military head of state, and once a minister and She also had her own business. I'd be worried if they couldn't afford certain things

    ReplyDelete
  67. Kindly shut up Linda and stop been biased. It is evident that you won't get any money from this present government so stop antagonising them. The fact that the husband is conservative should not make the wife dress like a wretch if she can afford the good things of life. What if it was a gift and she doesn't even know the value? Mechonnu Linda

    ReplyDelete
  68. This most likely going to be a gift. Do you think most of the expensive cloth bag, shoe and watches that madam patience put on then was bought by her. People that want one favour or the other get these people gifts. So pls u people should go and rest

  162. It's not everything you see you say. The wrist watch could be a gift from people who are seeking favor from the Presidency.

    ReplyDelete
  163. What did you expect. Did you actually believe the story of Buhari not having much?. I don't believe anything a Nigerian politician says. Didn't you see the gold jewelry his daughters were wearing on the inauguration day. That is why people are demanding he publishes the declaration of his assets. We have to keep them on their toes unless we are in for another long exhausting ride.

    ReplyDelete
  164. She is a successful business woman from a very privileged Northern family. Reports have always had it that she is richer than her husband, President Buhari. If she can afford it with her own money, can we stop her? She has never occupied any government position and has never stolen money from Government so why the fuss? Thank goodness she is wearing it before Buhari even took over power, if she had worn this a month later I am sure they would have accused her of buying it with corrupt proceeds. Or are they expecting Buhari to stop her from spending her hard earned money the way she likes? I think the Nigerian people don't care how much Buhari's wife's wrist watch or shoe costs as long as she doesn't buy it with our money. She is a private business woman.

Buhari cannot bring change if we don't allow God in.

  171. This will only bother me if they can prove that she bought the wrist watch with Nigeria's money. She runs a successful business and doesn't depend on Buhari. If she can afford it with her hard earned money thats her own kettle of fish.

  172. Na una sabi whether una like am or not, change has finally come and there's nothing anyone can do about it. between she has her own business she runs before becoming the first lady so it may be her money and maybe she has bought the watch a long time before now.

  175. Oh yea u can't hide your true identity for long.. they have told us the story we wanted to hear. Like Gej he didn't own a pair of shoes, Buhari no money to get Presidential form. Lol change is here indeed.

  176. So what if she did? At least they can't say she paid for it with the nation's money. The watch clearly was bought before they assumed office. PDP propaganda. Let them not face the work of fixing their screwed up party....
